    Mark 9:
    The Transfiguration
2 After six days Jesus took Peter, James and John with him and led them up a high mountain, where they were all alone. There he was transfigured before them. 3 His clothes became dazzling white, whiter than anyone in the world could bleach them. 4 And there appeared before them Elijah and Moses, who were talking with Jesus.

5 Peter said to Jesus, “Rabbi, it is good for us to be here. Let us put up three shelters—one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah.” 6 (He did not know what to say, they were so frightened.)

7 Then a cloud appeared and covered them, and a voice came from the cloud: “This is my Son, whom I love. Listen to him!”

8 Suddenly, when they looked around, they no longer saw anyone with them except Jesus.

9 As they were coming down the mountain, Jesus gave them orders not to tell anyone what they had seen until the Son of Man had risen from the dead. 10 They kept the matter to themselves, discussing what “rising from the dead” meant.

    Luke 9:
    The Transfiguration
28 About eight days after Jesus said this, he took Peter, John and James with him and went up onto a mountain to pray. 29 As he was praying, the appearance of his face changed, and his clothes became as bright as a flash of lightning. 30 Two men, Moses and Elijah, appeared in glorious splendor, talking with Jesus. 31 They spoke about his departure,[Greek exodos] which he was about to bring to fulfillment at Jerusalem. 32 Peter and his companions were very sleepy, but when they became fully awake, they saw his glory and the two men standing with him. 33 As the men were leaving Jesus, Peter said to him, “Master, it is good for us to be here. Let us put up three shelters—one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah.” (He did not know what he was saying.)

34 While he was speaking, a cloud appeared and covered them, and they were afraid as they entered the cloud. 35 A voice came from the cloud, saying, “This is my Son, whom I have chosen; listen to him.” 36 When the voice had spoken, they found that Jesus was alone. The disciples kept this to themselves and did not tell anyone at that time what they had seen.

I don't think we would be concerned about color. The I'm better than you crowd won't be there.

    ,,
Amy, that's figurative language. He appeared to the 11 the way He did prior to dying, and the angels said He will reappear in like manner as He left. I agree they won't be like they are now, but that means simply without the affects of sin and death.,,,,

Matthew 17:2 And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light.

    Sound familiar?

This is the glorified Jesus who the disciples saw with their own eyes.

But having a glow doesn't mean His body was somehow completely different. His glorified body is the one He left the grave with (as when ours leave the grave). Seeing Him in all His glory is unrelated.

I surely hope that I won't look the same as I am today. I'm placing an order for darker hair (mine's white), fewer wrinkles, and about 20 fewer pounds. Oh, and I want to be taller.

If people recognized Christ why would they not also recognize us?
