I'm looking for some non-fiction to read in 2019. The genre doesn't matter. I like history, preferably American, preferably WW1 and WW2 eras.

I like Christian non-fiction. Preferably autobiographies/biographies. Commentaries if Biblical - not just by an author because he/she is popular.

Do you have any suggestions for good non-fiction for 2019 reading. [If you like it, suggest it. It doesn't have to be historical or Christian commentary.]

    Thanks in advance.

I really enjoy the NIV Application commentaries. They break down each pericope in 3 sections: original meaning, bridging the context, contemporary significance.

Travels by Michael Crichton was good (some bad language and towards the last part he gets into his mystic views....but the good parts were worth the bad).

God's Prophetic Voices to America by David Reagan was good. The left behind series by Tim Lahaye was good also. Beyond the New Horizon by Christine Conaway was also good.

Two books that were published just a couple of months ago are Robert Spencer's "The History of Jihad from Muhammad to Isis" and Raymond Ibrahim's "Sword and Scimitar: Fourteen Centuries of War between Islam and the West" with a forward by American military historian Victor Davis Hanson.

Both are compelling books. In the last 1400 years, Islam has put to death 270,000,000 people and seems poised to conquer the world as we watch Europe being overrun and the lights slowly fading throughout the West. Jesus help us.

Want to change you view of the old west?

Empire of the Summer Moon, Quanah Parker and the rise and fall of the Comanches, the most powerful Indian Tribe in American history.

I only have two history titles on my favorites bookshelf, this is one of them.

If you like to see new places and do new things from the safe haven of home it would be hard to beat the National Geographic's 'Journeys Books'.

A lot of these can be found at used book stores.

You might like this video which mentions Parker if you haven't seen it already. You would know better than I if it is accurate:
