In 1983, as President Ronald Reagan's economic policies took hold, the American recovery started to roar back to life. This was thanks to Reagan's across-the-board tax cuts and an overall philosophy of getting government out of the way of American ingenuity. The result was that the entire dynamic of an economy that had been in a malaise for nearly a decade completely turned around.
In one month, September of 1983, the Reagan Recovery created 1,114 MILLION jobs.
    This was no fluke, either. The next 15 months saw amazing job growth (in thousands): 271, 352, 356, 447, 479, 275, 363, 308, 379, 312, 241, 311, 286, 349, 127.

Yep, I was in my 20's. I remember co-workers in 1982 that were getting mortgages with 12% interest rates. I was going to build a house in 1986 and my rate was 8.5% and I thought that was a good rate. I can remember the headlines in the paper with the economic news. It was one great thing after another, after another, after another. It was a great time to be alive.

I've lived through a real recovery, not this fake protracted imitation of a recovery. Even the mainstream media is turning on Obama. Headline in Washington Post: "Economy Added Disappointing 162K Jobs in July". New York Times: "U.S. Adds 162,000 Jobs as Growth Remains Sluggish". If this economy ever posts job gains, consisting of real jobs, of 250,000 per month a couple of months in a row I might call it a recovery.

And those jobs should be REAL ones- in private industry, not made-up government ones enforcing "Obamadontcare".

Reagan is a myth. He claimed to cut the size of government and reduce government spending. In fact he did the opposite. Under Reagan and GHW Bush out debt doubled. It doubled again under George Bush.

I like the Reagan "myth" better than the Obama "truth".
