Can I get a show of hands on how many people have heard the story of the unsaved couple that were visiting their Christian Friends or Family that tried witnessing to them but they wouldn't accept it, they didn't believe and when they left they got into a car crash and died unsaved.

I've heard this story myself from someone who claimed it to be true and knew the people who were trying to witness to the unsaved couple BUT I've also read this story elsewhere online ( i cant remember where now) and was mentioned as a story that everyone has heard their Pastor say, or heard from someone who knew someone etc.
Where did this story come from is it True or is it a Christian Urban Legend?
Thanks and have a blessed day!

I'm sure in the history of Christianity that somewhere something like this has happened.
Car crash, plane crash, house fire, drowned, etc, etc...

It is a realistic illustration, not sure it is rooted in a real story, but as @HankD said, I'm sure the scenario has probably occurred.

I see a similarly. Moody offered the gospel but not the urgency. People heard. The fire changed the way he preached.

hmm well I know of the people who are claiming it to be true, so im trying to verify because Ive heard this story before from others online and not as an illustration but as an actual event in real life. So the thing is, (the people whom I know and are saying it was them) I believe are possibly lying to people.

A person who relates this story is not trying to deceive anyone (which is the definition of lying) but rather share the importance of salvation.
and as stated before -it has probably happened.

Since early 1960 -or so - over 2 million Americians have been killed in automobile collisions.
It is very possible that there was cases of witnessing shortly before death has certainly happened.

No Salty, Its the exact same story, the same details. So its not a case of this happening all over the Country and people are just telling their similar story. its the same story.

and yeah someone is deceiving because they are not just relating the story for its significance or importance of salvation, they are actually claiming they know the people involved personally or they themselves were involved and where the ones that were witnessing to the couple. so someone is lying. the exact same story down to the most intricate and minute of details cannot possibly be claimed by more than one source. the preacher from New Jersey( as an example ) tells the story online says we was witnessing to the couple, same names, same car, same clothing they wore, same reason for visiting the christian couple, same things said during the convo, the visit ended the same way, the exact same way the car crashed , etc. Then some people from Texas ( as another example) also says they were the ones. another online forum this story was mentioned as a story every one knows, and it was all the same details. This is why im curious about the whole thing. is it a real story , where did it truly originate from? how far has this story spread and how many people claim to be or know the ones involved? or is it just a Christian Urban Legend? a little white lie some less than ethical individuals would use as a scare tactic to witness to people. I personally have met the people who claim to be the christian couple in the story. yet online ive ran across people who also claim to be the christian couple or are friends with the Christian couple but those people are different people from other states. so again, its not a story being related just for its importance of salvation but as a story they were personally involved in.

Actually the story I heard was someone walked out when church was over and got run over by a truck.
So, its not always the same story.

But wouldnt you agree that when there are in excess of 2 million collisions deaths - some may have happend shortly after the plan of salvation was shared?

IMHO - much ado about nothing.

Oh ok. well then the story you heard has nothing to do with what im talking about. Sure, of course similar situations can occur its a big world out there but thats not what im asking or interested in.

    Why the pursuit?

Remember there were three crosses. All died and one didn't end up with the other two.

As others have said, more than one has encountered such a happening in there own witness.

A believer who sows the gospel knows that three out of four places the seed lands will not grow to harvest.

The odds are three to one that such a story did take place, and more than once.

If you are a sower of seed, you will encounter at some time a similar event impacting you.
