What were some of the worst trades, draft choices, player releases, etc. you know, any sport?

These come to mind for me:

Reds trade Frank Robinson for several unknowns who REMAINED unknowns, while "Robby" played ten more fruitful years in Baltimore, providing leadership as well as a high caliber of play.

Yanks trade Bobby Bonds for Bobby Murcer. Bonds was MUCH the better all-around player!

Chargers pass up Peyton Manning for Ryan Leaf, later pass up Michael Vick.

Browns trade Bobby Mitchell for ???

    YOUR turn!

Looks as if that whole deal was a bummer for the 'Stros. The others involved were, from Houston, Ed Armbrister, Jack Billingham, Cesar Geronimo, and Denis Menke; from Cincy, Lee May and Jimmy Stewart.

At first, it looked bad for the Reds, as the highly-popular May continued to be one of the most dangerous RHB in baseball, and helms played an excellent 2b. But Morgan quickly won over the Cincy fans, while Menke, a proven 3B, became the best 3B the Reds'd had for years, Geronimo became a quality CF, & Billingham soon became the Reds' best RHP.

When Mike Ditka was the head coach of the New Orleans Saints, he offered all eight of his draft picks to the Cincinnati Bengals for their first pick in the draft so he could draft Ricky Williams. The Bengals refused the deal and took Akili Smith.
