The problem here lies in needing to downplay having read a book of that nature because of ignorant prejudice. It would be better if everyone read such material with real understanding. However, a book of speeches cannot hope to capture their delivery to and effect on the native audience. How they worked, why they worked requires insightful analysis. And it does not follow that they will necessarily translate to another culture, another populace.

 

Especially if you do not have what is necessary to deliver that style of speech
