Residents slam Christian ‘hate-mongers’ after Florida church tells ‘homosexuals’ to ‘repent or go to hell’

A Florida pastor has defended a church sign that offended his community by warning that LGBT people would “go to hell” if they did not repent.

Pastor Gene Youngblood of the First Conservative Baptist Church in Mandarin told WKMG that he was exercising his right to free speech when he recently put up the words “Homosexuals repent or go to hell” on the church’s sign.

I agree with the message and I support his right to put it on the sign.

With that said, I have some personal experience with Gene Youngblood and he is not someone that I care to have experiences with again.

That's a bit "in your face". I wonder why he singled out h*m*sexuals? Everyone needs to repent to avoid going to Hell.

Acts 17:30 In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent.

"Hatemonger" is a term used when one condemns homosexuality. It is a term used in order to shut down debate or public discourse.

That said this sign is not the best way to deal with the issue.

Rev, you are correct. This is one of your most understated comments, ever. I was chuckling after I read it.

Same guy has had messages around Muslims as well. It would be good if he put something on his sign about liars, because he could use a lesson in that area.

Seems to just be an attempt to be sensational because as was said, he singled out gay people but could have added liars and gluttons, etc. on there, and not received any press.

Islam is so tolerant of homosexu@ls--You would not see a mosque putting up a sign like that.

We're talking about what the First Conservative Baptist Church did put up.

So is "conspiracy theorist" and "Putin lover", you and your buddies who use these terms regularly know that. That's why y'all use them regularly.

To shut down debate and public discourse. Especially when you can't support your allegations with proof.

    Isn't that right CMG?
