I wanted to respond on the Black Lives Matter thread that Steven posted:
Here are the premises which I think are important to understand.

1.) No nation is perfect, there is, and always will be some amount of racism which exists in human nature.
2.) This nation (the U.S.) does a better job of any nation in history at dealing with cultural and "racial" diversity than any nation in history.
3.) The U.S. is unique in that it is a nation built not upon racial or cultural existence on a plot of land.....but that it is a nation of peoples who sought out new territory on which to build a society.
4.) That is to say, that the U.S. isn't a nation which suffers from ideas of ancient land claims, it doesn't suffer from a begrudged tension between Norman or Saxon.
5.) It is a nation based upon a CREED
6.) While we don't execute that creed perfectly, the idea of this nation remains.

We are a nation which respects a law, and an ideal.
That idea is that all men, willing to come to this soil, obey its laws, and build a life for themselves absolutely free of racial or class or religious boundaries may thrive if they simply follow some basic rules and respect the Constitutional ideals which were its founding.

That is the premise of this nation, and it largely still holds, unless and until utter lawlessness is allowed to take hold.
If lawlessness takes hold, that foundational ideal loses. And that dream cannot be realized.

    I don't want to belabor a point:
But I believe this unfortunate situation in Minnesotta is :
1.) A state issue, not a Federal one
2.) It was clearly not racially motivated
3.) While it was unfortunate, the alleged guilty party has already been fired, charged with a crime, and due process of law will (hopefully) run its course.

There is no reason that this incident in a nation of over 350 million people should ever have left the State of Minnessota.

The only people who want this to become a national conversation are those who are already seeking to uproot this nation and its ideals from its foundations.

    BLACK lives do not matter.
All creatures made in the image of God matter.

That is the premise upon which this nation, and its system of laws is built.
If that premise fails...…...the nation fails.

Lawlessness is prophecied to come. To some degree it already has. Much worse in most countries than in America so far. But America is not immune from what is prophecied.

We have a missionary that has been in Chile for about 10 years. In the fall of last year, virtually overnight, literally in just a few days, Chile descended into anarchy. Venezuelans moved in and brought the chaos with them. Just only about a month ago, the missionary and his wife finally were able to coordinate an escape from the country. They had been in lockdown for months before the coronavirus outbreak.

The missionary said it was startling how quickly the country slipped into chaos. He warned us to be very alert to any signs of organized civil disobedience. And we are seeing exactly that.

This country is devastatingly close to a similar scenario.
