    =============
    September 28, 2011 -A STUDY OF THE BOOK OF REVELATION- (6)
    =============
    Continuing our series of lessons....through the book of Revelation:
    =============
    LETS GO TO....... Revelation 1:7
    =============
    -TONIGHT WE START TO GET INTO......THE MAIN POINT OF THIS BOOK:-
    =============
    Note: When it comes to Revelation, we need to:
    Understand all that we can:
    And trust the rest with the LORD!
    ------------------------
    I am going as slowly as I can in order to squeeze:
    All the understanding that I can from these words:
    But there is a lot that I don’t understand as yet.
    ------------------------
    But there is one thing that we must do:
    To help us to understand more and more....
    We have to “nail down” the things that we do understand:
    And use them to help us gain more understanding!
    =============
    V.7A “Behold,”
    -ONE OF THE MOST GLORIOUS MOMENTS.....IN HISTORY-
    (At the very end.....of the tribulation period:)
    With our Lord’s glorious return to earth:
    --------------------------------------------------
    -A DIFFERENT “VIEW”....OF “THIS RETURN” THAN WE SEE IN CHAPTER 19-
    In chapter 19...John’s camera is pointed at Jesus:
    And we see the glorious picture of the returning Lord:
    ------------------------
    But here John’s camera is pointed at the earth;
    And to the reaction...of the earth’s population:
    At the moment of his return!
    =============
    V.7B “he cometh with clouds;”
    -THE LORD’S EXPECTED WAY.....OF APPEARING-
    (We expect it this way:)
    Because we read and believe God’s Word:
    ------------------------
    And throughout the Bible..God uses clouds:
    In His interaction with men.......
    See Acts 1:9-11
    V.9 And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.
    V.10 And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;
    V.11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

    and

    Exodus 19:18
    “And mount Sinai was altogether on a smoke, because the LORD descended upon it in fire: and the smoke thereof ascended as the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mount quaked greatly.”

    Now here it was smoke and not actually a cloud; But the effect was the same.
    Yet Jesus....comes out of the cloud for us to see Him!
    =============
    V.7C “and every eye shall see him,”
    -THE REASON WE KNOW.............THIS IS THE SECOND PART OF HIS RETURN-
    (Because He is seen by everyone:)
    --------------------------------------------------
    Remember: the first part...of his second coming:
    He will come....as a thief in the night:
    ------------------------
    See 1 Thessalonians 4:16- 5:4
    V.16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
    V.17 Then we which are alive [and] remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
    V.18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
    V.1 ¶ But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.
    V.2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
    V.3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
    V.4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.

    ------------------------
    Our present verse could not be talking about the first part of the second coming:
    Because every eye shall see him!
    =============
    V.7D “and they [also] which pierced him:”
    -THE BIG CHANGE.....THE TRIBULATION WILL BRING-
    (God’s people the Jews...will come back to God:)
    ------------------------
    By the way...this was whole purpose of the tribulation:
    As the 70th week.....of Daniel’s prophecy!
    See Daniel 9:24-27
    --------------------------------------------------
    -THE RECORD OF.....THE “”SALVATION”“ OF THE JEWS-
    See Revelation 11:11-13
    V.11 And after three days and an half the Spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them.
    V.12 And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them.
    V.13 And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven.

    ------------------------
    Notice: The Jews response to God’s Judgement:
    And how different it is...from the world’s response.
    -------
    Because in their heart, the Jews are God’s people:
    They will respond to God’s chastening:
    Differently than an unbelieving world!
    -------------------------------------
    Here’s an Old Testament prophecy about it.....
    See Zechariah 12:9-10
    V.9 ¶ And it shall come to pass in that day, [that] I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.
    V.10 And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for [his] only [son], and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for [his] firstborn.

    =============
    V.7E “and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him.”
    -THE UNSAVED WORLD’S REACTION.....TO HIS RETURN-
    (As described...with the opening of the 6th seal:)
    They will be terrified:
    ------------------------
    Because the world will know...”the jig is up”:
    --------------------------------------------------
    -THE 6TH SEAL-
    (Like many other parts of Revelation:)
    Here we have a capsulated form of a large chunk of the tribulation.....
    See Revelation 6:12-17
    V.12 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake;
    and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;
    V.13 And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs,
    when she is shaken of a mighty wind.
    V.14 And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together;
    and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.
    V.15 And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;
    V.16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:
    V.17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

    --------------------------------------------------
    I once heard a man...share this with a lost person!
    =============
    V.7F “Even so, Amen.”
    -WHAT HAS BEEN DESCRIBED.......WILL ACTUALLY COME TO PASS-
    (This isn’t a “parable” or a “fairytale”:)
    ------------------------
    The Lord’s physical return to Earth:
    Will be....dramatic and Glorious.
    --------------------------------------------------
    So the world....had better get ready for it:
    And even we Christians....should be ready for the Rapture!

    Seal 6 a Single Day

    See Revelation 6:12-17

    You are assuming that Rev.6:12-17 concerns a "large part" of the GT!
    Jesus said the "signs of that day and hour occur after the GT"!!
    On that "last day", He will "gather the elect from earth to heaven"!!!
    Matt.24:29-31; John 6:38,40,44,54; Mark 13:24-27.

    Hi lastday

    Nice to talk to you.
    --------------------------------------------------
    You said...........
    Boy I tell ye, I try not to “assume” anything, when it comes to the book of Revelation.
    (That is why I am going so slowly....picking up “facts” along the way.)

    When I said.......
    I meant that in a general sense, because the point being made in Revelation 1:7, is talking about the 2nd part of the Lords second coming, and although part of Revelation 6:12-17 deals with a part of that event, not all of it does.
    --------------------------------------------------
    You also said........
    I don’t understand what you are getting at.
    “After” the great tribulation, Jesus sets up his kingdom and will reign for 1000 years.

    You may be talking about the Lord’s statement.....
    “Immediately after the tribulation of those days....”

    This is one of the passages that teach, that the tribulation should be considered in two sections;
    The first 3 ½ years(the tribulation) and the second 3 ½ years(the great tribulation).
    --------------------------------------------------
    Finally you said..........
    I do know where you are coming from here.
    First, I interpret the Bible literally, and even though a lot of Revelation can’t be understood literally, some important parts of it are literal, such as the 1000 years.

    As for “gathering the elect from earth to heaven"...
    I expect to be covering this when we get to Revelation 14:14-16.

    What Occurs AFTER the GT

    Still Learning:
    You claim to know what I am talking about:
    "I do know where you are coming from here.

    My Friend:
    You did not accept that Jesus placed both His coming itself AFTER the
    Great Tribulation and that He will "gather the elect from earth to heaven
    and send the angels to gather them out of the four winds" AFTER the GT!

    If you are truly taking His words literally, how can you fail to accept that
    the He will "raise up all believers on the last day"?!!

    The resurrection of "all/every believer on the last day" must occur "IN THE
    DAYS AFTER THE GREAT TRIBULATION AND AFTER THE SIGNS OF THAT DAY"!!!
