Russian infantry shortages and mobilisation in Ukraine

Remember, Russia only went in with 200,000 troops to begin with. They are fighting only a special action, and not taking all of Ukraine. Thats the real reason they have limited infantry in Ukraine. They are also winning the fight on the ground.

Agreed. The other facts all point to this conclusion, especially the forced conscription. People I met in Odesa are using Telegram and other non-VOIP messaging sites to avoid the spur of the moment impressments. (Hmm, spell-check underlined that word, although it is legitimate. It is what the the British Navy did when they were short of rope-monkeys and deck-swabbers during the Napoleonic War.)

Impressment:" the practice of forcing men (and women) to serve in the military against their will. "
