Scary: 42% of Dems think gov't should "manage the economy completely"

Now this is some scary stuff.

Democratic politicians have repeatedly stressed to the public that they are not socialists and do not believe in socialism. They may want to have a few words with some of their voters, according to a poll released over the weekend by Rasmussen Reports.
In that survey of 1,000 adults, nearly half of all Democrats, 42 percent, indicated that they believe the government should "manage the economy completely."

Not sure what the 2010 election accomplished...but I do think this: Another cycle with the D's in charge might just push us over the edge. I doubt that we can recover our economic freedoms with another cycle of leaders who pander to folks that actually desire the government, rather than individuals, be in charge of our economic decisions.

Yikes!

It's inevitable, that eventually the people will demand absolute security from the state....and absolute security is absolute slavery.

"Polling data indicates that Democratic voters typically have higher incomes than Republican ones."

Not that your post has anything to do with the OP, but I'll humor you:

Your post would make sense on three counts...

1. Government sector jobs (overwhelmingly D) make more than their private counterparts.
2. Ridiculously inflated union wages (the same union wages that have wrecked Detroit and two of the Big Three);
3. R's have to take more time away for family issues. I would contend that statistically that's less of an issue for D's.
