I recall reading once where a man spoke of preachers who majored on passion to the neglect of instruction, referring to them as preaching from the fullness of their hearts and the emptiness of their heads.

I cannot recall who it was or where I read it. Can anyone help me to find the source?

I've heard that saying but never a source. Maybe I'll just quote you from now on. :Biggrin

I tried a search at books.google.com for the above quotation, and I did not find any book with it. Google directed me only back to your post.

It is definitely not original to me.
I was thinking of Spurgeon, but a search of his works left me dry.
