Well it seems every generation has had more educated people in it than the last one and our coutry seems to be headed the wrong direction especially with the educated man we have in the White House now. Our country was better and stronger when less emphasis was placed on education and more emphasis was placed on hard work and paying your way, that's what the generation of the 17th through mid-20th century did. Then the 50's brought the emphasis on education and our nation has been heading down hill ever since. Education in those days was hands on and getting them dirty to earn a living. Our President has probably never gotten his hands dirty working, we know he has sweated playing basketball.

So you learned "very good lessons on money handling" but wish to deny college students from learning the same?

Instead you want them to borrow more money than they can ever hope to repay?

What is the genesis of your lack of compassion for the financial future of our children?

It is not punishing them. Making them pay the same interest everyone else does is not doubling anything. Making them pay what everyone else does is not punishing anyone. You claimed it was. Are you walking that back, now ?

    Strawman.

Honestly without some aid some people will never go to college. But it is the height of arrogance to then demand someone else pay your debt. Whether you are bale to pay up front, along the way, or get loans it is the individual responsibility to pay for it. Not the government.

Freedom says everyone should have the right to higher education. Socialism says everyone should have the same opportunity to higher education.
Wisdom says not everyone can afford a higher education and it is not their neighbors responsibility to finance or pay for it.The government needs to get out of the finance business.

And I thought you are a patriot and wants whatever is best for the country. Hmmm, guess education is not, in your view, good for the country.

So if one does not support college being paid for everyone by the government then one is not a patriot or want the good of the country? This is the problem with the left sided world view. It has no understanding of what a patriot is or what is best for the country. It is only a sect of mind numbing zombies who are blindly following their indoctrination.

Do you also believe that funding for a Masters or PHD should be provided to everyone who wants to go to college?

    If not, why not?

Banks loaning money is far from socialism .... or at least in the books I've read on economic theory.

That is good advice for anyone who did not complete high school.

In that my wife, my children and I all have advanced degrees your advice really is not needed here.

But thank you for your Christian spirit of love in offering the fruits of your wisdom. :love2:

"I got news for you" is grammatically incorrect

A better question is do you know the difference in a republic and a democracy?

Socialism is where the haves are forced to pay for the have nots because the nuts in the Governmnet force their tax money to be paid for social programs.:BangHead::laugh:

Now should we help the eldery you bet, and the truly handicapped you bet.
