Separated from families, ended up in mass graves in Canada

Canada: at least 160 more unmarked graves found in British Columbia

Much like children of believers today in Canada and elsewhere are forced by law to attend schools violating their family traditions and beliefs, Canada forced about 150,000 native children to be violated in many ways. Many hundreds of these children's remains are now being found on the former residential school properties. What could be done? It seems to me that the government should get out of the 'mandatory' business, especially when it comes to children.
