In another Thread, Hank D stated "The church is in the world but not of the world. But there is an intersecting of the church and the state.
i.e. A church still has to pass certain safety standards of the building code, zoning restrictions fire safety codes, etc... or they cannot operate"

So what should be the extent of Separation of Church and State?

When I talk to liberals who demand total SoC&S - I will ask them why a church should meet fire and safety codes.

As far as I can tell, as long as no established Church of the United States exists, the intent of the Constitution has been met.

True but highly organized churches (e.g. RCC - of foreign origin:Rome) as well as independent autonomous American churches are allowed tax exempt status.

If there is a complete separation of church and state, then now you're talking about a building. A building does have to meet code.

Church members are not exempt from civil law, why would we expect a building to be.

Our churches aren't like little Vatican Cities, legally separated from the US. We are separated in a Separatist sense, as in our doctrine is not codified in law through an established church (like the Church of England).

If you make it into the Kingdom, are you going to be picketing Jesus' throne demanding separation of church and state?

Whenever you combine a perfect institution (The Kingdom of God on Earth) and an imperfect one (The United States of America) it's the perfect one that is harmed by comparison. That's why I think it's a terrible thing to combine the two. If you want to harm, Christ's Church then go right ahead and speak as if only Republicans can be Christians.

    Why use the word "forced"?
    :)
    Render unto Caesar...

Caesar wants to keep his citizens safe, shouldn't we as well?
There is a legitimate intersection of authorities here - we should just do as Caesar says as Christ directs us..

Just saying that the Founders did not envision a land where a Christian forced to sell to a gay couple, where children cannot pray in school, and when transgendering is main stream!

Agreed, admittedly they did not envision it.

    But we are living it.

Let the bakers sell the cake, include a free bible in the sale.

No one can stop the children from prayer, how can anyone tell what's going on in their minds?

    Christ died for the transgendered.

NONE should be forced by the Govt to go against the law of God, not to have special rights for transgenders either!
