CINDY SHEEHAN CALLS FOR U.S TO 'PULL OUR TROOPS OUT OF OCCUPIED NEW ORLEANS'
    Mon Sep 12 2005 12:42:11 ET

Celebrity anti-war protester, fresh off inking a lucrative deal with Speaker's Bureau, has demanded at the HUFFINGTON POST and MICHAEL MOORE'S website that the United States military must immediately leave 'occupied' New Orleans.

"I don't care if a human being is black, brown, white, yellow or pink. I donÕt care if a human being is Christian, Muslim, Jew, Buddhist, or pagan. I don't care what flag a person salutes: if a human being is hungry, then it is up to another human being to feed him/her. George Bush needs to stop talking, admit the mistakes of his all around failed administration, pull our troops out of occupied New Orleans and Iraq, and excuse his self from power. The only way America will become more secure is if we have a new administration that cares about Americans even if they donÕt fall into the top two percent of the wealthiest."

Sheehan is in the middle of a bus trip across America in support of her cause.

    Developing...

I'll be off in the corner laughing myself silly over this if anyone needs me.

The woman has obviously allowed her "grief" to put her in a deranged state.

And absolute shame on the folks who have propped this poor woman up. Taking advantage of her grief. Huffington is a bottom scraper.

Sheehan OBVIOUSLY no longer has a grip on reality, let her alone. Let her hero son rest in peace.

    Cindy, Please shut up.

There is a need for soldiers in times of disaster like this to prevent the break down of law and order. But I believe those soldier should be the men (and women) of the state militia, not of the federal government, and not of the mexican military either.

These very same people would probably be protesting the war against Hitler if they lived back then...

Sheehan is an idiot and is dishonoring her son by attacking the military's service.

snipped from wnd.com & her blog entry.

In her Internet posting today, Sheehan said she had "imagined before that if the military had to be used in [continental U.S.] operations that they would be there to help the citizens: Clothe them, feed them, shelter them, and protect them. But what I saw was a city that is occupied."

Describing the scene, she wrote, "I saw soldiers walking around in patrols of 7 with their weapons slung on their backs. I wanted to ask one of them what it would take for one of them to shoot me. Sand bags were removed from private property to make machine gun nests."

The activist insisted there was no reason for the security presence, because "the vast majority of people who were looting in New Orleans were doing so to feed their families or to get resources to get their families out of there. If I had a store with an inventory of insured belongings, and a tragedy happened, I would fling my doors open and tell everyone to take what they need: it is only stuff."

She commented: "When our fellow citizens are told to 'shoot to kill' other fellow citizens because they want to stay alive, that is military and governmental fascism gone out of control."

"If George Bush truly listened to God and read the words of the Christ, Iraq and the devastation in New Orleans would have never happened."

I think that if you opened the doors of your store as she suggests and then tell people to loot you because it is only stuff and it is insured, then the insurance company would not have to pay you because you conspired to steal. Anyone who followed her advice should sue her and take her stuff.

I don't think she still has a home, as her husband has begun divorce proceedings.

I did hear that she was earning $25K a week for taking this stand. I suppose that is enough incentive to keep her going. Nothing like a greenback poltice to make one well.

This woman is proving to be an absolute nut case. She needs counseling. Serious counceling.

If I'd had a mother like her, I'd go to Iraq, too.

poncho, how did Leahy and Cheney get into the conversation? Another rabbit trail to try to get the forum off trck?

This so called "mother" is a disgrace to her son and any other man or woman who has given their life or sufferred wounds in the service of this nation. While she may have the constitutional right to speak about her opinion, that right does not extend to telling lies.

No rabbit trail, just trying keep things on an even keel. She has a potty mouth, Cheney has a potty mouth. She's condemned for it, he get excused for it.

She doesn't have the right to lies but the adminstration does? Oh, that's right what they did was use enough "emphasis" to turn public opinion in favor of the Clinton regime change policy.

Even though the constitution gives the right for those in the adminstration to speak their opinions it doesn't give them the right to manipulate ours.

What the Vice-President did does not justify what Mrs. Sheehan is doing. That point would be illogical in my book. They are both wrong on that point of using obscene language. Mrs. Sheehan however has crossed another line in that she directs her foul language at the President of the United States. This is wrong. Even a Democrat is entitled to respect if he is President.

Anyone who has followed her actions/words over the past weeks will just laugh this off. Her fifteen minutes of fame is over (for now and maybe for good) so she is trying desperatly to hold on to it for one more minute.

    It is really sad.

    Martin.

No one, this administration or any other, should lie to the citizens of this country. However, to use what has been described as a Jesuitical argument, there may be instances of security where it might be justified.

As to trying to manipulate opinion, just what do you think politics are about. Surely, you are not so naive as to believe that politicians don't attempt to manipulate public opinion.
