    Know anybody like this?
    ----------------

Thanks for the note....We are looking for a man that can Preach -
Evangelistic style, and man that can stand and fight - (liquour protest, gay
protest, abortion protest, and street preaching are some of the things our
church regulary participates in) , and a leader who can organize and help us
rebuild a real Independent, Fundamental Baptist Church, standing on the Word
of God, KJV . Please pass that on to your Pastor.

    Thanks,
    Kenny Thorpe

Reminds me of a joke from Afganistain.

From outside the Taliban cave they heard a voice:
I can whip any ten Taliban Fighters
Ten Taliban Fighters were deployed, after about
ten seconds of gunfire, there was quite.

A few minutes later came the voice again:
    I'm mean, I'm lean, I'm a Texas Marine!
I can whip any hundred Taliban Fighters

100 Taliban Fighters were deployed, after
a couple of minutes of gunfire, there was quite.

A few minutes later came the voice again:
    I'm mean, I'm lean, I'm a Texas Marine!
I can whip any thousand Taliban Fighters

1,000 Taliban Fighters were deployed, after
about ten seconds one of the Taliban Fighters,
mortally wounded fell over the ridge in front of
the cave's mouth. His last words were:
"They're cheating - there are two of them!"

These responses are so typical of the mental and spiritual attitude of many members on this board.

I suppose that not ONE of you fellows even bothered to check out the web site of this church before spouting off at the mouth.

    Mt 15:18
But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.
    Mt 15:19
For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:

I would have said SHAME ON YOU but you would not heed the reproof.

Try doing a little bit of investigation of a matter b4 running your necks next time.

This is a good church in need of a Pastor. Their last one was with them 34 years and died less than 7 days after his last message. He battled cancer for years and STILL PREACHED!!! Can any of you "wanna-bes" say the same???

Wanna post a link to this church?
I would be happy to check it out.
The link in the OP is an email link.

And are they looking for a pastor or an evangelist?
The OP does not describe a Pastor, but a rebel rouser street preacher.
A pastor is caring. The description above does not sound like a caring shepherd, but a carnivore ready to devour anyone they disagree with.
But hey, what do I know? I guess I am one of those wannabees that were refered to.
I got my preachin orders from GOD, so if you don't like that fact, take it up with Him.

But maybe the website will give a better idea of what they want.
Of course there is no link to the church, so how will we know?

To quote and rephrase, "These responses are so typical of the mental and spiritual attitude of this type of church."

To each their own, I suppose.

    Wellllllll . . .

Your response is so typical . . .

I did try to check out this church . . .

    Did you bother?

PS - since you seem to know the church
. . . and it was not posted in the OP
. . . You definitely have the advantage.

If that is it, it looks like a great church... nothing like what I expected from the OP.

Yes, I would disagree with some of their beliefs, but not enough to amount to anything.

    Thank you for the link.

Now, are they looking for a pastor, or another staff position.
The way the OP reads, they could be looking for a Minister of Outreach.

I did my homework before posting; unlike some of you. Pretty simple really. Can you say "Google"? I knew you could.

Then I wrote to the e-mail addy which was posted to find out what they were looking for. Pretty simple really. Can you say "Hotmail"? I knew you could.

Therefore; lame excuses are exactly that. LAME!

Got questions about the church? ASK THE CHURCH!!!!

    Ha...Ha!!!
I'll get you and your little dog too!!!!!!!

    Touche!
But to be technical... the multicolored hair was done at the closing program at VBS. Hence my pink hair in my avatar here.

When I preach from the roof, my hair will be the color it is now...

    GREY!

    Man, is it turning fast!
Well, at least I ain't loosing it.

For those of you that have no Idea what LeBuick is talking about... I'll tell you.

When I took over as Pastor of our church this past April, the Sunday morning attendance was between 25 and 30. This past Sunday we had 58. We have been hovering between 50 and 65 for the last 2 months. If everyone would come, we would have at least 95. Which is about all we can seat comfortably... Well, I think we can seat aroun 110... , but that is not counting the 2 front rows... which don't count except on Christmas and Easter! But it seems like Christians like to come to church in shifts!! It is like that everywhere. So about 3 months ago, I told the church that if the attendance is 80 for 2 straight Sundays I would preach from the roof. It is climbing, but so far no luck.

That is what Lebuick is talking about. But I won't be preaching with multi-colored hair.

Oh, did I mention I was scared of Heights!!!

I have actually been to this church! Typical KJV indy-fundy stuff, but the folks didn't bite or anything. Well there was one, but I figured it had more to do with the fact that the kid was 11/2 more then anything.

I think it will be hard to find someone

Interesting the church posts this on their web page>>>

The Bible Search below is provided for your convenience in the KJV only. Smyrna is proud to stand on the 1611 King James Version only!

Then post the Scripture like this...

FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD, THAT HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, THAT WHOSOEVER BELIEVETH IN HIM SHOULD NOT PERISH, BUT HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE.
    John 3:16

Someone needs to inform them that their own words contradict their practice, for they do not use the 1611 KJV only!!!!

The 1611 must be what they all cary. They read from other Bibles so they don't break the binding and ruin the pretty appearence of their "carrying Bible..."

Sorry for the bad humor but have you ever seen a person carry a Bible for years and it never shows any signs of wear?

By my experience they will be looking for another 'Pastor Julian' and whoever comes after him will not measure up, they will go through two or three guys and the attendance will dwindle. I hope that isn't what happens but I have seen it too many times with this type of church.
