How bout the orange groves?
Actually, snow doesn't hurt oranges. It actually acts as an insulator from the cold. Temps below 32 degrees for an extended period of time causes freeze damage in citrus. Lemon tree actually die from sustained sub freezing temps. I farmed oranges and lemons for years in the Central Valley of California. We used to use 'smudge pots' (burning sludge) to try to get the temps from damaging the fruit. Now wind machines are used to circulate the air and prevents serious damage.
