Rest assured, if the government and banks honor it...... It will be spent.... As to whether it does any thing for the economy will remain to be seen.
The last 'rebate', I held onto, initially doubting my own integrity of accepting it with the conservative scruples I had. I lost it in the paper shuffle.... Then, in December, when I was at my wits end as to how to pay my property taxes on my social security, after already juggling some bills, partially paid.... and putting off car repairs needed since last summer..... Praise God I came across that check .....still current, and deposited it and paid with a few added dollars, the property taxes due. A few might save their check..... but many people living on social security..... especially if that is their only income.... will spend it.
As much as I used to shop in the past...... and thought I needed 'stuff', I now pay taxes, and buy gas, and utilities of water, garbage, land line with internet, (no tv cable) and food, and medical when scripts or visits are due...... oh, yes..... auto insurance. Everything else is luxury! Even tp and household supplies..... either get at dollar store (everything $1) or don't get. Can't find it there? I'll do without. Besides there quite a bit one can do the ole-fashioned way with baking soda, plain salt, white vinegar, or a little bleach....... or coconut oil.
