I know you mean chickenhawks as in men, bro, but did you fly one of 'em chickenhawks as in choppers, Galatian ? I hear they're pretty wild rides if one don't have a feel for them rudders.

    Gina,

It's not about whether we really are at war. I was more into the human interest side of the story, including the links. I know soldiers like the ones the guy mentioned are still around, but we won't be reading of them until after a while.

(Barbarian suggests that the chickenhawks who support the war should do so by sending their adult children to fight in it)

"Men" is probably not the term for those who refused to go when their country called, but are delighted to have a war to send young men and women today.

When I got a low draft number, I figured I'd better go do something. The army wanted me to do that. After getting out of school, I'd have gotten a warrant officer's rank and everything.

But there was a greater committment in time, and I had graduate school in my plans. So I enlisted instead. Now, I kinda regret it in some ways. I have to admit that I wasn't crazy about riding in them. Some people handle a rough ride better if they are the one doing the driving. I'm one of those.

I hear they're pretty wild rides if one don't have a feel for them rudders.

I don't remember seeing rudders on them. The thing that's scary is that the collective is a function of speed and attitude, and low and slow is where one is most likely to lose it.

You may be right that the voters would choose Clinton over GWB, but it would be out of ignorance and caused by political sophistry.

Polls are usually what the seekers are desiring and GWB knows that and ignores them.

Last sentence is a backwards as it could be.
