The special counsel overseeing the investigation into Russia’s role in the 2016 election is interviewing senior intelligence officials as part of a widening probe that now includes an examination of whether President Trump attempted to obstruct justice, officials said.

The move by special counsel Robert S. Mueller III to investigate Trump’s conduct marks a major turning point in the nearly year-old FBI investigation, which until recently focused on Russian meddling during the presidential campaign and on whether there was any coordination between the Trump campaign and the Kremlin. Investigators have also been looking for any evidence of possible financial crimes among Trump associates, officials said.

[Here’s what we know so far about Team Trump’s ties to Russian interests]

Trump had received private assurances from then-FBI Director James B. Comey starting in January that he was not personally under investigation. Officials say that changed shortly after Comey’s firing.

Five people briefed on the interview requests, speaking on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the matter publicly, said that Daniel Coats, the current director of national intelligence, Mike Rogers, head of the National Security Agency, and Rogers’s recently departed deputy, Richard Ledgett, agreed to be interviewed by Mueller’s investigators as early as this week. The investigation has been cloaked in secrecy, and it is unclear how many others have been questioned by the FBI.

Oh whatever happened to collusion?

Right, that didn't stick to the wall so lets try obstruction of justice.

How about Bill and Loretta on the tarmac?

As Mueller also finds a lack of evidence for "Obstruction of Justice" (In about 6-12 months) a new shocking set of offenses will serendipitously be uncovered and Mueller will extend the investigation to (This is my guess) "High Misdemeanor offenses of International Conflicts of Interest".

Actually they were hoping for this from before the inauguration but Mueller will be instructed to be surprised "at the serious gravity of these crimes and the severe danger to the financial integrity of America".

IMO of course.

Hank, it is still on the table. Just not talked about much at the moment. We are in the early innings of this game. Whether it sticks to the wall or not we do not know yet. Far too soon to cry or cheer.

Officials, what officials? I would like some names please. Can't provide them, oh yes I see, what we really have here is another false leak, you know like all the others that have proved false. Not one bit of evidence of collusion and now we are on to the obstruction charge.

You know, an official (an ASPCA official) sent me an e-mail that said you beat your puppy regularly. Oh my, I guess then it must be true. No?

Hank, far too soon to make such announcements. As I said this game is in the early innings.
I believe it is already fizzling out as investigations into Comeys peccadilloes are in the works and allegedly Comey intends to sing like the proverbial canary concerning the fabrication of the fictitious "Russian collusion".

Trump will NOT pardon him now.

Time will tell
