    Padre,

    If you can find me a Volunteer cap that will fit my fat head, I'll wear it with pride!!! [IMG]

    What kills me is that so many self-proclaimed "fundies" will spit and scream about someone not wearing a dress or a tie, but never get to the heart of the matter, which is sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ.

    It doesn't matter if they come into the church with shorts and sandals on...it matters if they only hear condemnation and not Jesus. I don't give a hoot what a lost person has on if they show up at church, but I take extreme care that they are shown the love of God there.

    Anyway, I've been known to come to church in a polo, jeans, and sandals...sometimes I don't get a chance to shave :eek: . But, ya know, God still loves this ole backwards country boy just the same.

    In Christ,
    Trotter

    What does when Webster's was written have anything to do with the definition? Has the definition for modesty changed?

    Ralph, I never thought you would admit that. [IMG]

    That pastor probably doesn't have to worry about what non-belivers might think because they wouldn't be there. </font>[/QUOTE]Uh...did you actually read the thing you quoted before you put your foot in your keyboard?

    I will re-quote it for you. I think you just overlooked it.
    "6 professions of faith", "we have had others saved and baptized".
    So, following your statement to its conclusion, these folks who professed faith, and others who were saved, were not there? Or were they believers before they got saved? Or were they...what?
    Methinks ye are not so wise as ye think ye are, or you are just harping for the sake of harping.
    Please do not misnderstand me. I have already stated that I think the attitude the pastor has,i.e. your are not mature/not right if you do not were suit/dress; is wrong. On the other hand, it is equally wrong to have the attitude that certain standards of dress are pharisaical.
    In defense of this pastor, let me say that his heart is evident when he gets excited about change for the better in a persons life after they have been saved. To this, I would give a hearty AMEN!; and who would not?
    In His service;
    Jim

    I did read it, but somehow my brained wasn't fully engaged when I repied. I did read what I wrote later when it was too late and felt rather stupid.
