Didja know the CEO deleted his twitter account ? Why ? Because I guess he didn't want to have the conversation he asked for……

Yup. I'm laughin'.

I actually say kudos to the Starbucks CEO. He recognizes that the stuff that has been taking place between the police and communities is an EVERYBODY issue.

I don't drink coffee and never been to a Starbucks other than to sit with folks who were already there. But I'd much rather support a company who is actively trying to effect change than those companies who are content with the status quo.

The people who have jumped on him probably haven't really listened to what he's trying to do.

Three points:

1. If the baristas disagree with my opinion, I do not want them to spit in my coffee.

2. "Serious conversations" with compete strangers in a pre-caffeinated state is a bad idea.

3. How would a conversation with a police officer who simply wants his coffee go: "So, what do you think about all of the unarmed black men that your lot have shot?"

While you are at it, ask the barrista(sp?) if she got her job because of white privilege.

Did you know here in Houston Starbucks seems like the only fast server that has no hispanics rambling in Spanish while they server? I'm sure it's temporary though until they hire two so they can exclude others "through Spanish" and if they get called out they learned from Shallow Al Sharpton to say "Discrimination!".

How many Starbucks are actually located in inner-city black neighborhoods?

They tried one in Indianapolis, not in an inner-city neighborhood but in a very bad area of filling stations and empty stores and planned parenthood in a black neighborhood at a busy intersection. It lasted about a year and then was shuttered.

The only nice Starbucks stores around here are in upscale suburbs.

This isn't in the spirit of my post. People talking Spanish together does not bother me.

I knew the post was haunted! Well I think it's rude when they are serving and exclude customers and other employees through exclusion. So you are picky about race discussions? There is only ONE race BTW....the Human race.
