From the local TV station

The Board of Education went to an executive session at 6:30, right at the start of the special board meeting, and didn't end until 10:40. That's when BOE President, Jennifer Patruno said, "We share the communities concern with the decisions made by superintendent Thomson on Friday evening. His actions placed the student body and community at risk. This district continues to work with the b’ville police department who is also investigating the events of the evening. While the investigations are ongoing, no further comments from the school district will be made. Mr. Thompson will be placed on administrative leave."

****

There was no report if he is suspended with or without Pay.
He is due in court later this month for the DWI

The (suspended) Superintendent makes 203 grand a year - (about 4 grand a week).
and he will continue to receive that while he is on suspension!

WHY?
1- the School board wants to avoid a court case later
(because)
2) a person is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

In addition a TV reporter wanted to interview him, but he is nowhere to be found.
(sounds like he has a good lawyer.)

So - the taxpayers of the District will be the losers @ the cost of 4 grand per week, as I assume the Acting Superintendent is being paid at the rate of the Superintendent.

The district is working with the police dept.
While the investigations are ongoing, no further comments by the school district will be made.

. Mr. Joseph DeBarbieri, the Deputy Superintendent, is now serving as Acting Superintendent

The head football coach here got arrested for Dui. That was over 10 years ago and still not adjudicated. He was never suspended or fired. He went to a bigger county about 4 years ago.
