SYRACUSE, N.Y. -Federal regulators want to make it harder for people to buy and take large quantities of over-the-counter diarrhea medication to get high -- a growing problem in Upstate New York.
The Food and Drug Administration has asked manufacturers of Imodium A-D and similar medications to change the way they package these products to curb abuse.
The Upstate New York Poison Control Center received 59 reports of people misusing, abusing and overdosing on anti-diarrhea medication last year and six cases so far this year....At least four Upstate residents have died
