Texas Dems Call for Decriminalizing Border Crossing

Crossing the border illegally should no longer be a criminal matter, three Texas Democrats running for national office said over the weekend.

Senate candidate Rob O'Rourke, gubernatorial candidate Lupa Valdez, and House candidate Veronica Escobar all backed the proposal, the Huffington Post reports.

Illegally crossing the border is currently a criminal act under federal law, with an associated fine and maximum of six months jail time for the first offense. The Trump administration took advantage of this fact in its "zero tolerance" policy, which required U.S. Attorneys in the border states to charge every violator criminally, rather than waiving prosecution and immediately deporting.

To Escobar, who is expected to win a House seat in El Paso, the case for decriminalizing comes down to not treating immigration as a crime.

Ted Cruz is melting down. He can’t hamdle the PRESSURE!

“The upshot here is that, as this race continues to tighten, and as it becomes more clear that O’Rourke really can win in a state like Texas, we’re seeing Ted Cruz go further off the rails than usual. Maybe Cruz just can’t handle the pressure of a tight race and the prospect of losing. It’s not normal for a Senator to be up all night trolling celebrities on Twitter – even in this day and age.”

Ted Cruz has late-night meltdown as Beto O’Rourke surges in popularity

Who is a globalist anymore who wants cheap labor? El Pasoans could annex Cuidad Juarez if they tried hard enough. Beto is running on his Hispanic heritage and one of the comments on your link said that Beto O'Rourke has the same eloquence as Robert Kennedy and Barack Obama, so he has a lot going for him. I just am not in favor of abolishing borders as I don't think that we need anymore foreign labor although I think that we should help the Boers who are having their land stolen from them and who are being murdered by the majority in South Africa. I think that Beto would turn us into another Sweden or France or Germany or UK with millions of people who do not want to assimilate but who want us to give them welfare since we have no jobs to give them.
