I wasn't referring to you in particular in that area. I was simply using your comment as a jumping off point.

Joe as much as you mouth off you support the
war ..that comes off disingenious....If you really are serious and apparently you mouth it....you would find a way because you sure do
mouth it.

this (insert whine here)"I have a job" sounded so lame espeically
after you are the most vocal proponent of the
war.

George Bush is calling you ,Jenna, Barbara, and
George jr. to service why can't you answer the
call ..please don't give us a lame excuse or
some cyst on your behind like Limbaugh.

Some individuals like me have medical conditions that disqualify them. Before I knew my condition disqualified me, I wanted to go into the military. Of course, then God called me into ministry, but that's another story. </font>
One of the greatest needs in the War on Terrorism is Chaplains. Sometimes they'll bend the rules if the need is great.

Joseph,

How do you think the recruits learn how to do their job? They get taught.

The Military has a need for teachers as well as riflemen.

If the military needs me and drafts me, I will go and do my duty. Until then, I will leave it to those who have volunteered and in many cases, re-enlisted after recovering from injuries to fight the war. &lt;personal attack deleted&gt;I don't have to enlist in the military in order to show my patriotism. And anyone who thinks I do is an idiot.

They also need teachers to teach their kids at home. This whole idea that because a person is not in the military, they are not patriotic is stupid and way beneath you. If the military drafts me or has need of a band teacher anytime soon for the sake of the war, I will do my duty. It is not, however, unpatriotic of me to not sign up. I don't have to prove anything to you.

Who is George Jr.? </font>
That is our current president, George W. Bush, who served his country with honor in the military and recieved an honorable discharge, but was also slandered by the bitter partisans (Like Dan Rather) during an election year. Thankfully, Most Americans saw straight through the bitterness of the sore losers on the left and re-elected him last year. [IMG]

How do you know what they need unless you ask?

You're right. You don't have to prove anything to me.

And so far you haven't.

I doubt they would care much for almost 50 out of shape accountant like myself. Now if I was senior in high school right now I wonder what I would do.

Joseph, I believe the reference to George Jr. referring to Florida Governor Jeb Bush's son, George. (although he is not a junior) His name is George Prescott Bush.

I would think anyone who is eligible and is really patriotic would want to go to Iraq and fight the war on terror & would be going down to enlist right away. In fact, I wonder why the delay!

Other patriots weren't too good to give up cushy jobs to go enlist and fight for their country and this war on terrorism. There is nothing leftish or anti-war about suggesting that true patiots go join up to protect our country in Iraq.

You thought wrong, which is not surprising. :D

I will continue to live my life as an American. If my country needs me, then they will call and I will go. &lt;personal attack deleted&gt; We do not have to join the military to be patriotic. That is among the dumbest ideas I have ever seen posited on this board. It is nothing more than a Michael Moore anti-war slur. Disgraceful!

I see. So now you want to tell other adults what they should do with their own lives. Some friend of individual liberty you are. </font>
Oh, I see. People of privilege and wealth should not avail themselves of participating in the war on terror. To suggest that they should put action behind the rhetoric to help fight the war on terror and to help liberate people is against liberty? Ohhhh kayyyyy. Guess only the middle and lower classes deserve to be cannon fodder in the war on terror.

I fail to see how it is a Michael Moore anti-war slur by suggesting those who are really patriotic should join the war effort. Especially when the military is having difficulty meeting quotas.

Please explain how it is disgraceful.

Any adult that meets the requirements of the military is free to volunteer as far as I know.

Yes, so why aren't more people of privilege and wealth signing up? Especially those of military age among elected politicians who support the liberation of Iraq?

Since I am not among people of privilege and wealth you would have to ask them, not me.
