I suppose that might be J. P. McBeth, who wrote Exegetical and Practical Commentary on the Epistle to the Romans (Revell, 1937). I have no knowledge of whether he is an uncle of Leon McBeth.

I guess McBeth is getting trashed because he has an education and is spouting his pseudo-superior intellectual skills. Sorry, I just could not seem to work the word "crow" into the sentence.

    Erasmus,

No, McBeth is getting trashed because he writes of Baptists who actually believed in Christ and the Bible as if they were aliens and those who denounced Christ and the Bible as if they were legitimate.

Mr. McBeth makes the following statement on pagees 70-71 of his biased history:

You crack me up. Statements like these are the reasons I don't let my students use internet chatrooms as sources. Funny stuff.

    Erasmus,

Sounds like authoritarian censorship if I ever heard it. Instead of making snide remarks and looking down your acedemian nose at me, why not address what I actually said. Prove that I have taken something out of context or otherwise misrepresented the facts.

What is an "acedemian"? It kind of scares me. Does it grow on the nose or the nasal cavity?

That would be right. I was told that J.P. was Leon's Uncle, by a Texan, but then I've been lied to by Texans before!

He has a Ph.D. </font>[/QUOTE]A. I wasn't necessarily saying that McBeth was wrong on that point; only pointing out that his statement about the Orthodox Creed contradicted another historians statement that it was not generally accepted among the General Baptists.

    B. So he has a PhD. Does that mean his statements are infallible? PhD does not substitute for historical accuracy.

Wouldn't put it past a Texan to tell a tall tale! A least it would probably be the biggest and best! ;)
