The Best cup of Coffee

I can´t voice an opinion since I have never had coffee at any of those places. But I am a HUGE coffee fan. When in the States I always have like the usual Starbucks but I also love Tim Horton´s. Its always hot and rich and goes great with their donuts.

But I have to say nothing beats having a cafe con leche and medialunas or a cafecito in the afternoon at a cafe here. Especially sitting outside, perhaps on the ocean or during a fútbol match. The atmosphere is unmatched. Argentines take coffee seriously. Their cafes are similar to what you may find in Europe. Here coffee is not just a beverage, it is an art.

I like Dunkin Donuts coffee. It's the best!

I like home-brewed Folger's served black. The starbucks and tim horton's and others are more like sweet sissy drinks, their real coffee tastes like canned coffee brewed at home that is expensive. I guess sweet coffee is an acquired taste.

In my shame, I will admit I usually end up drinking instant Taster' s Choice. :tonofbricks:

The MIL brought me a whole can of Hortons for Christmas. I was fixing to run her out of the house when she says, "Oh, I left something in the car, eh."

I replied, "Too bad it wasn't you, eh."

"It's an old friend of yours," she retorts.

Sure enough... 3 pound can of Tim Hortons coffee...

I let her stay.

I was even hand-served a free cup of Tim's coffee one day. A Baptist Church I was helping decided to have a meeting at McDonald's. So, early I went to McDonald's and ordered a coffee. I was soon advised that the meeting was moved to Tim Horton's across the roadway. Not wanting to waste anything, I carried the McDonald's cup with me. As soon as I walked in the door at Tim's, a young lady came over and took my McDonald's cup and asked how I took my coffee. She brought me a fresh cup of Tim's.........free!

Cheers,

Jim

Surely Tim's is the best. It is Canadian, eh!

Cheers,

Good to see you back Jim. And yes it is canadian and one of the first states to get a Tim Horton´s in the US was my home state of Michigan.

Man do I miss that brew. Nothing like it with a good walnut crunch donut to go with it!

They are not sweet sissy drinks if you actually just order coffee! That is a whole lot cheaper too.

Overall I find coffee beans from Sumatra produces the best flavored coffee. I like my coffee to be a strong espresso. Buy the coffee whole bean and grind enough to make a cup or two when you are going to drink it.

Ditto friend. My favorite is expresso as well. Which is the only type of coffee that you will find in a cafe here.

And I totally agree about grinding your own beans.

A few years ago for Christtmas the kids bought me a cheap little grinder and what is most available here locally, Starbucks beans. Love the "breakfast blend". And at times an add a few hazelnut beans...... Would love to try some of the others but am very content with what I have. Grinding really makes a difference!

Yes, yes. Here they can spend a couple hours, sitting and talking over a cup of coffee.

I've never had coffee in the States. The only thing I've ever tried is a cup of Turkish coffee----and not because I really wanted it, but because it was the polite thing to do. I quickly learned not to drink the whole cup.

I like strong black coffee, so the best is what I have at home and there are still a few truckstops that have a good cup of coffee.
