The Christian divorce rate myth (what you've heard is wrong)

    No direct reply intended David. I am simply worried about the direction of the thread and the idea that divorced Christians may not be considered authentic.

    The issue is not whether divorced Christians are authentic. But whether the numbers of those claiming to be Christians are real.

    Divorce Rate and Acceptance of Divorce

    Yes, the divorce rate depends on so many factors.

    What Christians need to focus on is the shame of divorce in their own churches, whatever the rate.

    We can talk about statistics but will seldom confront the problem when it is right in front of us.

    A senior writer at Christianity Today stated, “When someone in our church has an affair and subsequently divorces, very few of us single out the offending parties and demand repentance. . . . (but) we certainly don’t want to congratulate the adulterous couple on their newfound happiness... as though no moral fault were involved. So we say nothing. . . .”

    Silence in our churches is as big a sin as divorce.
