    Get the scene:

Blackbird comes pantin' into the Coffee Shop and nervously plops down in the nearest booth--people are starin' at him!

"Blackbird! What's the matter! What did you see??"

    "Blackbird! Speak to us!"

Nothin'---its like--its like--its like--he's "Shell Shocked!" Like he's seen somethin' that has tramatized him!

He's nervous and jittery! His lips are quiverin'! He wants to say somethin' but he can't! Whatever is in his mind(or whatever isn't) won't let him!

Last we've seen of Blackbird--he was flyin' with his wingman--both in seperate P-51 Mustangs--the best Propeller driven warplane ever designed---runs on 100 octane Conoco gasoline--(Blackbird insists on flyin' it, though he does have various supersonic jets in his front yard in Wesson!!) Yes, a fully armed P-51! He was flyin' "lead"--when he shouldn't have because he hadn't had a day off in umpteen months---toward the Woman's Private Forum(the same coordinates--password--as the Bermuda Triangle) Coincidential as a female moderator made up the password----

And that's the last we saw of him--until now! And now he can't talk! Wait! Wait! He's motioning for the pot of coffee---maybe that'll detramatize him----but----but-----but----where is his wingman!!

"Blackbird! Where is your wingman!!?" "Did you leave him at the Private Forum?" Where is the wingman?? Maybe he can tell us what happened to Blackbird!!

If he keeps up his antics with the tractor and holding up a lighter to the gas tank he'll have enough light in his face. LOL
I want to hear about the corn from him...
Having a bad day, I need amusement anyhow. So tell!

The Boy Blunder, in yellow-and green flight jacket, stumbles into the Coffee Shop.

"Mighty Messerschmidts, Blackbird! I've never seen anyone take that much flak and still stay in the air!!!"

"Son, that wasn't the worst of it, I tell ya'."

"You should've seen Ol' Blackbird up there, folks. He was doing loops and rolls as pretty as you please, leaving me behind in my P-40 while he danced all over the sky. I thought he was going to strafe the Translations forum out of sheer mischief."

"But then he put on his secret helmet, and suddenly he was heading nose-first for the ground. Just like that, it looked like his engine up and died."

"It was the helmet, my good Bird Brain. I slid that little bit of leather and metal onto my head and it was like I had been blasted with a whole battery of 88s."

Blackbird pauses to drink three cups of Sherrie's special blend (one part coffee, one part 100-octane aviation fuel and one part Mississippi River water).

"Son, I ain't never gonna put that thing back on. No man can survive what it shows. Why, the phantasms are reaching for your organs, your mind is a blank slate. Nosirree, no special missions like that again."

The crowd wants to know what the helmet was form. Blackbird shrugs his shoulders. He looks down at the floor.

"It's classified, folks. Too dangerous for anyone else to know about. If I had my way, they'd throw all the dadgum things away, burn the papers and lock up the scientists."

"I know what it's for," Robin says. "But I can't tell. But I know there's a rumor going around, may be just a rumor, that the U.S. government is developing a device that tells men what women are really thinking ..."

"That's enough, lieutenant! Consider yourself on report right now! Confined to quarters! Get into the basement!"

"Kids! They'll say anything that comes to their feeble little heads, don't they. Ain't a thing to that rumor, just more worthless scuttlebutt."

"Well, I'm feelin' better and have to get the Mustang to the shop."

"By the way, Sherrie, I did figure out your age and who sent the flowers ..."

Gina!!!! How lovely of you to stop by! And the corn is lookin' good, girl! Miriam and I are finishin' it up today--that's where I'll be in a few minutes! A strong thunderstorm came through about 2 weeks ago and wind blew the stalks down to the ground, the birds are gettin' a few ears, the coons are helpin' themselves, and the Fire Ants get a lot of it(when you pull the ears off the stalk the ants get on your hands--not a pleasuring experience)---but still I'm gettin' more than the varments are!!

I use to sell it when we lived at another church--but don't here in Wesson--we give a lot of it away on the cob---ain't nothin' better!

We've had a problem over at the church with one of our air conditioners--(the condensation wasn't draining right---the condensation drain pipe was clogged! I don't get folks, Gina! They get all excited about reportin' the problem to the preacher and then "ski-daddle" when it comes to fixin' it and cleanin' the mess up--I've done figured out us Southern Baptists!!! The glory is in reportin' problems---not in fixin' um!! And often times the reportin' is "trumped up" while the fixin' is "played down!" Anyway, I'll mop up the mess and clean up today---and let everybody go on about the report this comin' Sunday!!!

Well, I'll be back later! Gotta pull the rest of the corn, shuck it, cut it off the cob and all that good stuff that comes along with eatin' it---

Sherrie, can you have corn to eat--this corn is yellow Merit---you just can't eat white stuff, can you?? I just can't see how just one ear drinched in butter and salt won't hurt 'cha just this once!!!

Then I have to clean up the air conditioner water mess---then I'll come back to see who I can drink coffee with!! How about that!!! Would anybody like to sit and drink coffee with Blackbird afterwhile???

Your Southern Baptist preachin', air conditionin' buddy,
    Blackbird

    Morning All!

Another beautiful day! I didn't get to pop in last night and say good night, I had unexpected company. I trust everyone had a good restful night's sleep.

FYG: Patch the Pirate has a Christian children's ministry. Here is the link to read all about him. People all over the states use his material.

    PATCH THE PIRATE

Grandson and I are taking today for R&R! We really had a work-out yesterday! We may even get in a little fishing today. Grandson knows how to take the fish off the hook and put it on a stringer! Woo Hoo!!!!!! :D

I have two more grandsons who are begging their parents for fishing poles so they can go fishing with Grandma. I think I've started something here. Can't you just see me taking FOUR nine-year-old boys fishing at the same time???????

This forum is getting to be like the 'Bible Belt'. I see we have two chapels now. [IMG]

Thanks for the DDP and strawberry kool-aid Sherrie. I will stop back later.

    Have a great day all!

    The Fishin' Granny,
    Sue

Sherrie; I have started a thread in this forum, "The Coffee Shop Drive-Thru-"Thought for Today". It is not a devotional, just a short thought. I will be posting a new one every day whether anyone reads it or not... :D

I will not have any food or beverages, I will just be handing out a free tract as they drive through on their way here. [IMG]

Grandson said to tell everyone hello (his name is Brent). He said, "I know you like this place Grandma, 'cause you are always laughing when you go there." Out of the mouths of babes....

He is up now and hungry as a bear for breakfast. This morning, he requested hash browns, waffles, scrambled eggs, and orange juice. I think he has a tape worm because he eats and eats and is as skinny as a rail!

    BBL all...
    Cooking breakfast now,
    Sue

    Good Morning! [IMG]

All is well here! Think I dreamed about pine trees all night though. But it is so nice today. The sun is shining and it is actually hitting the back of the house.(not to much though, there are still plenty of trees back there) Speaking of pine trees, Sherrie what do you mean about the sinus thing and pine trees? Now you have me wondering! I feel ok today, just a little sore from throwing all those limbs.

Sue, thanks for the link to Patch the Pirate. When I went to the site it clicked! I knew it was familiar. On Saturdays we sometimes listen to a bunch of radio shows in the morning. That's where it came from. Will show it to daughter when she gets up, and see what she thinks. Any other suggestions out there?

Jon, When we all get to heaven!!!!!! :D :D

    Hi Gina!!! [IMG]

EEKS, my yard is full of popcorn this morning!

Yeah, popcorn! You know from one of those cigar trees, can't think of how to spell the actual name Catalpa tree or something like that! But when the blooms fall off it looks like there is popcorn covering the front yard! [IMG]

Never knew that about pine trees. Knew that they carried a lot of pollen though. My husband was having an awful time with his allergies when we went to bed. He even takes Allegra and flonase and was still miserable. [IMG]

So how are the workouts coming Sherrie? Feeling stronger?
