No body piercings here! That is an old expression for getting your hair cut.

Hello Everyone

How are you all? I hope you are ok. This is just a flying visit, was at church at 10am this morning and only came back home to back three batches of scones for our American visitors. We are giving them a cream tea this afternoon, and then the first of the revival / country and western gospel meetings tonight.

Our house guest is lovely
and we have been chatting a lot. She is really hoping to have time to see some of the sights and go shopping too. She likes my cooking too

Will catch up with you all soon, but have a very busy schedule for the next few days, but you are in my prayers.

Love hugs and blessings to you all

Sherrie: The neighbors are loving it. We still have a long way to go, but you can definitely see an improvement! The house and the yard have both been neglected for years.

I am heading outside right now to finish the trim on 8 windows (have 27 to do in all). I will see you later in the afternoon when I take a break. Please have the DDP extra ice cold today...

Have a great day!

Good morning! How's everyone doing?!

I'm just sitting (actually standing) here at work, and for the last couple of weeks I've been playing praise music while I work! I've forgotten the good and happy feeling it brings me to hear God's name being praised while in a secular place! :D

Not until Monday. We are cleaning and packing this weekend. There are also some people coming to look at our old furniture today to see if they want to buy it. I think we have already sold 2 chairs, a toddler bed, and a small dresser. Maybe my car will fit back into the garage before too long.

Just got back from Walmart and being a thrifty shopper saved mucho el dinero. Was glad to get out of there before all the angry people got there.

AdoptedDaughter, I think Sherwood is quite a ways south of here close to Little Rock. I have been to Little Rock but I don't think I have ever been to Sherwood, unless I was just passing through.

OK! I've got a situation here that I'm after some advise on---see if ya'll can help Blackbird in one of his serious moments--

About three months ago a woman in church approached my wife and I to borrow some money. More than just the "Can I borrow a twenty?" type--more along the lines of $1000.00.

Now, I'm not rich and Miriam doesn't work--but we do sock away a little. I know the Bible teaches me to lend to those who ask--without interest--expecting nothing in return. And the Lord Jesus has led me and my wife to carry that sort of gift.

The lady did say it was for her mother's operation and that she would pay us back--her husband makes better money than I do and I know she has the means to pay back. The Bible also teaches her the responsibliity of borrower(her) being servant to the lender(me) and that we are to pay back what was borrowed.

We keep a tab on how much she has payed back--$40.00 over 3 months. We vowed not to ask her about it--how could you simply "forget" that you borrowed a thousand bucks???

Now (1)--I have several of these "Speedy Cash" lenders calling me asking for her--seems she used my name for a reference. Now, folks! You can use my name for reference anytime you please, but please call me and let me know what you plan on doing. The Speedy Cash folks are looking for some money she borrowed from them and can't find her.

(2) Another bonified situation has come up in church--another lady has fears that her throat cancer is back and needs a CT scan and biopsy. She needs $1000 to go through with the scan. But you see, without the first lady paying me back--it puts me in a bind to be able to help with the second lady--who I know needs the money---I personally saw the bill form the radiologist--I'd like to help--but now I can't until (1) the first lady pays me back--the money put in savings to help somebody else in the future or (2) I pay myself back the money she borrowed--each pay period I have I pay myself back to savings what I let her borrow.

You see why its hard for individuals to be able to "want" to lend money?? The problem I have is not in lending folks the money---I want to do that---the problem arises when there is no payback.

Any thoughts from the Coffee Shop?? Suggestions??

Your Southern Baptist buddy,
Blackbird

Thanks, Sister! You are indeed a sister to me---I know I clown around with ya ---probably more than you want---(often I post and then say "Lord she's gonna kill me for that!!" but I can be serious at times--and this is just such a time---!! You need anything--you call me!

Your brother in the precious Lord Jesus!

Brother David

Now the big question Sherrie, can you keep your promises with this, or will you be defeated by your desire to know what the surprise is?lol

yours, Jon.
