I am sorry Sue I took your seat but you can join me for a chat.. Sherrie I think that is great visiting the shut-ins and nursing home. How funny that you should mention that because last night in our corporate prayer time we have a prayer list and one of the areas we pray are for our members that are in Nursing homes now and I had asked where they are all located at because I thought I would go and visit them myself even though I have only been at this church two years this summer and I do not know any of those in the nursing home but I also love to talk. We had one last night that wasn't expected to live through the night and his family was all there. Our church has had an interim pastor our new pastor is due May 1st but you know our interim pastor last night said that after service he was going to visit with this gentlemens family and just offer them his support during their time of need and I think he is such a great servant of God! We will miss him when we get our new pastor and we pray that he gets a new place of service soon. Well I guess I have stayed a little to long in the coffee shop so I guess I will leave so someone else can have room to chat!

    Morning All.

I was watching the interview with Madonna this morning on the news, and I tell you I just could not get pass the fact she is just a disgrace. She said she attends Judah ? classes.

Classes that are scientific and help you learn your words correct and get in touch with your own spirit. She likes being the center of attention. Not only do her and her husband attend these classes two days a week, but her daughter does. Because they do not teach this in her daughters school.

The more I listened, the more she remained perverted, and the more I listened, the more I really started disapproving of her. There was nothing about her I liked.

Do you know how when you go to a funeral home for visitation, and how the body looks...well that is really how she looked.

So I said let me find something nice or funny, or something good about her....and I really could not.

Good morning my good friends. It is a lovely day to-day in Eastern Ontario. The sun greeted the morning with full expectation of a great day.

Every blessing to those who take on this ministry of visitation. It is a wonderful opportunity to bless the Lord with a cheerful smile, and sometimes this is all the person needs.
We often curse the mass mailings we get in our mailbox each day, but often shut-ins delight in this mail. It is the only mail they get. If they find pleasure in mass mailing, imagine how brightly a live smile shines on them.

Still praying for Blackbird. When one part of the body hurts, the whole body feels it. Prayer does not have to be fanciful. It has to be effectual. This one thing we know; the Lord has never been known to return a prayer to the sender for a rewrite or edit. He gleefully sorts them all out and dispenses His will upon us each one.

Isn't it a marvellous thing that we are told in scripture that even the hair on our head is numbered. I am told that those with less hair are viewed as possibilities. So, none of us miss out on this blessing. When our arms get tired holding them out in prayer, the Lord sends two servants to hold them up whilst we pray.

I thank my Lord for all of you. Each one is a blessing in his/her own way, and you never know when you are ministering to another.

Brother Ed, how is the neck coming along? We trust the Lord for healing, faith to believe and grace to receive whatever the Lord has in store for you. The greater the trial, the greater the blessing, measured in divine scale, not earthly treasures.

Cheers to all, and God bless,

    Jim

Hi girls! there are plenty of seats in the coffee house!

Well I am glad you are going to be visiting the nursing homes. You do not have to know them. They will love you coming. My Pastor gave me a list, and a brief history about each one of them. So I would have a little about each one to talk with them. A couple have alshiemers (?) and so they will not remember me coming anyway. But they need company too.

I am going to start tomorrow. I want to pick up some things, like some small tokens for them. The Christian bookstore in our town has lots of little trinkets to give children for childrens church..thought they might like something similar like: bookmarks, cards, pencils, note pads, etc. Little gift bag of things.

Good morning!! It rained pretty hard here last night but it seems to have stopped for now. I think they said we may get a little more today but the weekend should be sunny and warm. It is already in the 60s F this morning, so it should be a nice spring day. [IMG]

I'm praying for Blackbird. I don't need to know why, God knows why.

Betty thanks for the tip. My kids go back to school on Monday, and Jordan and Dan are going camping with the Boy Scouts Friday through Sunday, so maybe I'll take the girls to see it. We deserve a girls day out. Better than staying at home pining for the men in the family to return. [IMG]

About Madonna, Sherrie, I totally relate to your feeling the way you do. I would just like to say that Madonna's mother died when she was young. And she grew up Catholic. I don't know if this will help you to have compassion for her. I don't especially like her either, she's not someone I would have as a friend. But I repect her desire to seek God. And I feel compassion for her because of the heartbreak she has dealt with in her life. I'm sure you do too. We are commanded to love the sinner, but hate the sin right? I personally think she says a lot of things just for effect. My sister is like that. We all need to look deaper than exteriors...we need to look at people and try to see what God sees. He loves us all the same right?

Again, I poke my head in, and two pages of posts to get through after my one. You are all a bunch of chatty cathy's... lol. ;) I'm just about to break out into the "Cheers" theme. "Where everybody knows your name"

Oh dear, now I am worried. :( The last time I recommended a movie (years ago), the person hated it. :( It may be more of a boys movie than a girls movie because it is about boys.

    Although my granddaughters liked it.

Sherrie, a friend of mine takes a banana to my 91 year old mother and mother always looks forward to it. Sometimes she will take some crackers and another one takes cookies. Food of course would have to be cleared with the dietitian, but it seems that they are so happy with just about anything.

My mother likes to have things that she can give to others when they visit. They also love stuffed animals and toys so you are certainly on the right tract with little things to take them.
Of course, you know more about caring for patients than I do.

Jim, I thank you so much for your inspiring posts. They always give me a lift and encourage me to be a better person.

One thing I learned years ago: We are on God's
Mission wherever we are and whatever we are doing.

While some of you are talking about the elderly, the oldest member of the church died yesterday. If she had waited untill August she would have been 101 years old.

I have not known her at her best of health, of course, but sometimes she would surprise me when I finished praying she would then start a rousing prayer that made me think what a prayer warrior must be held within her those times times I dont seem to get much response.

    yours, Jon.

    Too funny!

Hey Betty thanks for the idea's. I will wait and see what everyone is like and try your ideas. I am going to start tomorrow.

Kenny goes to Eye Dr. today. I am taking him to Marion Eye Clinic. The glasses seem to be more expensive every year. Funny tho I told Taylor Me-Me (She now calls me this) has to take Kenny to the Dr. And she wanted to go see Kenny get a shot. Because the Dr. gives you suckers. And I told her not this Dr. So she is crying. She wants the Dr. to give Kenny a sucker. Go figure. So I am lieing to a 2 year old about Dr.'s and suckers. Anything to stop the crying. Goes right through me. So now she wants the Dr. to give Kenny, and her a sucker. I feel like I have been had by a two year old. I will have to buy suckers.
