Sherrie, the birthday stuff was planned a couple months BEFORE the new couch, etc. [IMG] Micheal likes the TV show Trading Spaces, so we are sending the boys to their grandmother's house the night before we switch to surprise them.

Micheal is really into outer space, so that will be the theme. There will be glow in the dark stars and planets on the ceiling, space posters on the wall, etc. His birthday is June 17 and he will be 8 years old.

I love it! My son Kenny loves that Science stuff and Math.

Well think I will go walk a mile, and talk to the other walkers. Maybe I will learn something while walking. The other day I learned...if you walk over 3 miles, you are not burning any more calories, than if you just walked the 3 miles. Also, some other things...but mainly girl talk.

Ok be back later. [IMG]

Hi everyone!
Yesterday it was 85, today 65,
Yesterday it was sunny, today it's raining
But, hey, this is the Pacific Northwest, this is what we get! I think it's raining because I really was going to clean up my car - no really, I really was.......

Any big plans for the long weekend? I am going to try that cleaning idea I read about someplace just to see if I remember how. There aren't any rules are there?

Hi Carolyn! [IMG]

I walked my evening mile. Did not learn a thing. I did however notice, the squirrels, and Robins, do not run from you when you walk by them. They just keep eating. I felt like I was at a Childrens Petting Zoo. [IMG]

Well not much else going on. I am hungry. We are having homemade Cheese Hamburgers. Everyones favorite in this house. Guess I need to go fix them.

A couple of people have noted that I stopped the morning devotions. One, they are actually from my own private devotional readings and so they go one everyday regardless.

I stopped writing them up in here because they get buried back at the beginning and this room moves along so quickly.

I have thought about making them a thread on their own.. might call it coffee shop chapel or some such thing.

Just thought I would drop off this explanation so you all would know the reason.

Cheers,

Jim

Ninety Nine! Go for it, man!

I'm going through the book of 1 Samuel myself on Wednesday nite--good study material--David in that cave Adullam!! Mercy! Javelin's being thrown "at will" but not in "the will" of God!! Untimely deaths and prolonged lives--what a story of David and his givings and misgivings!!

Your buddy,

Indeed Brother Blackbird,
The life of David is a lesson in life itself. He had many failings, but only if we had half the courage and devotion of this one man.

I always loved the Old Testament and preached quite often from it....and many times from the obscure passages. What I found was the attention I was given compared to other sermons. The people perked up because it was unfamiliar to them, and yet so poignant.

Cheers,

Jim

Blackbird

If I get some time--I'll post a couple of those Wednesday studies--right now my in-laws are here so I gotta hurry and say goodby for tonight!! Gotta go!

WOW! Jim that would be great! Because I really think your devotions are far better than a lot I have read!

Do it. How have you decided it will work? will you be the only one posting the devotion, and no response; or will there be devotion, and then response.

I really think that will be good if you do it!

Hi Sherrie,

Sorry, I just got back to check my fishing lines. :D Spend too much time in the other pages and it is nice to just let my hair down. [IMG]

Belton, Mo is just south of Kansas City, it is considered KC Metro Area.

Sigh.. still awake. I've had a massive headache since about 8:00 this.. erm.. yesterday morning?

And I have such a busy day tomorrow.. maybe I'll have to stop in the morning and load up on caramel cappacino.. yum.

I have church in the morning, then my neice's 1st b-day party at 2, then I have to be back at church by 5, because we're having SS graduation tomorrow night, and my sixth graders will be movin' on up to the Jr. High class.. sigh... :(
But I do get a whole new bunch of 3rd graders, so I guess it's okay. :D

Hopefully the sermon in the morning is exciting.. well.. they're all exciting, but y'all know what I mean, otherwise I might fall asleep.. [IMG]

And what kind of example would I be to my SS girls if I fell asleep in church???

Hrm.. maybe I should start loading up on the caffiene now...

Wow. Alright. I'm gonna shut up now, and go look for something interesting to read. :D

In His Love,
Audrey

Audrey: I pray the Lord gives you the strength to do everything you need to do today! Just remember, you are NOT 'Superwoman'.

Our Assc. Pastor has migraines periodically where he can't even come to church. He has very severe pain and double vision. He usually just takes his medication and stays in bed until they pass.

Oh Audrey, I LOVE caramel coffee. In fact it's the only kind I drink - from Starbucks - Caramel Macchiatto.
I had a headache most of the day yesterday, too. I think it was all that talk about spring cleaning......But I did find the floor in one room :D so there is evidence of progress!

Today we have overcast->rain. The usual.
