I am not Baptist but I have got to say that Jonathan Falwell, Thomas Road Baptist Church and Liberty University have the best things going on in our day and time. I have helped a niece through Liberty University and have visited Thomas Road from time to time. The last Jonathan Falwell sermon I heard he invited those standing in the back to open seats in the front row. And then turned the camera onto two young ladies who had graciously accepted. The sermons are also very good and also a good example of a family man. Jonathan Falwell…

1. Bachelors degree – Liberty University
2. Masters Degree – Liberty University
3. Doctors Degree – Taft Law School, Santa Ana, California
4. Senior Pastor – Thomas Road Baptist Church
5. Chancellor – Liberty University

If I ever worry about our area it is the lack of the quality Christian life they enjoy at Thomas Road. Liberty University is a two hour drive. It would be nice to see the same quality life here in Blacksburg as they enjoy in Lynchburg.

Zac Poonen tells of a story of building a house. In India you cannot build out of wood for all the insects. You have to build out of brick. If you are building a house out of brick and leave loose bricks on the street the people will steal the loose bricks from out of the yard. Once the bricks are mortared in they are safe. Zac tells of remembering no brick stolen having all been mortared in.

Zac then goes on to explain there are two types of Christian…

1. The mortared in – All safe within a cohesive church family
2. The single brick – The loner with no church family

And goes on to explain the value of finding a good church.
