Although the final vote totals are not yet in and the exact numbers may change a little, there is one glaring statistic that stands out for the minor parties.

Comparing the 2000 Presidential election to the 2004 election, the Constitution Party experienced a 32% increase in its vote total, whereas both the Libertarian and Green parties received fewer votes this time than they did in 2000.

    Constitution Party from 98,016 in 2000 to 129,842 in 2004 +32%
    Libertarian Party from 386,064 in 2000 to 374,586 in 2004 -3%
    Green Party & Nader* from 2,882,782 in 2000 to 496,223 in 2004 -83%

*Note: Ralph Nader was the Green Party candidate in 2000 but ran as an Independent in 2004. in the above table the 2004 vote total for the Green Party is actually Nader+Cobb.

Yes they went from 0% of the vote to 0% of the vote. That's growth for you. [IMG]

Congratulations to the Constitution Party. However, back in the early 1980's I looked at the Libertarian Party the same way after Ed Clark received almost 1,000,000 votes in 1980. Obviously, the growth curve from 1972-1980 did not continue.

Yeah, just think, if no one but CPers vote, Peroutka might win.

No really, Peroutka should try to win something a little closer in odds, like, um, most manly spouse. Yeah, lets see if he could even win that.

As I have said in other threads, it is not about winning or losing elections but about doing right before God. God requires faithfulness, not political victories.

I registered independant this year because I couldn't vote for either party but I will be with the CP next time.

    Dale,

If I remember correctly, you didn't even vote this year because you didn't register in time. Is my memory correct? And you are going to lecture us on voting responsibly? Gimme a break.

    129,842

But to think, that might have been 129,842 more votes the Republican Party COULD have had...one day, they will look at these figures as they keep growing and perhaps someone in Republican Leadership just might raise an eyebrow or scratch their head and wonder why....

We should NEVER be ashamed of standing on principle - even when we vote. Principles do matter - as the left found out this past election - the majority of Americans DO CARE about moral issues.

Yes Joseph, the ones backing a crooked lawyer are preaching integrity and responsibility. Hilarious.

    JGrubbs, SCOREBOARD!

Despite your efforts to elect Kerry, you lost.

Why what Sheeagle9/11? Are they wondering why conservatives started smoking pot and voting for Peroutka?

You're hateful and mean. Your mama must be proud. :( And Jesus is really proud, no doubt. [IMG]

Not likely. The CP will go the way of Nader. Nader is to the extreme left liberal wing of the Democrats and the CP is to the extreme right isolationists wing of the Republicans. Republicans have gone into the area where winners go: The middle. If you look at the electoral map, you will see that reflected as well.

I'm not talking about how one voted, DD. I'm talking about the fine example of Christian love you show to everyone you come in contact with on this board. Kind of like rat poison. [IMG]

Daniel David is one of the most hateful people I have ever come into contact with. I am glad I am a Christian, because if I were lost, Daniel David's testimony would do nothing but push me away from Christ.

Your tired display of "I am old and offended" is just that Sheeagle. This is a discussion board without the ability to demonstrate emotions. It is your position that I was attacking. Maybe this format is too much for you to handle.

Daniel David, you attack just about everyone, in just about every thread. You have show 0% of God's love in any of your post anywhere on the board!

Grubbs, is that because I despise the idiocy of Peroutka? Sorry, but not really. You were simply deceived. It is the false teachers that I actually despise, not you.
