    Dear Brothers and Sisters,

This may me a milestone document in the discourse of the Evangelical Church and Politics and the Public Square. If ever a document needed to be discussed by those who frequent the Baptist Colleges and Seminaries portion of the BB it is now. Please read the document and come back and let me hear what you have to say.

I await a lively and interesting discussion of what is going on in the academe.

    "That is all!"

I have a great respect for Os Guinness, one of the architects and signers of the "manifesto." However, I have a number of problems with the document. I would also note who has expressed concerns and reservations about it. For instance, Dr. James Dobson, Mrs. Phyllis Schlafly, representatives of "The Coral Ridge Hour [ministry of the late D. James Kennedy], and Southern Baptist Dr. Richard Land.

While I have not yet seen or read the document in it's entirety, I will be downloading and reading it shortly. Suffice it to say that I would quite probably share the concerns of all those mentioned above. Additionally, I note who some of the signers ARE. Like Jim Wallis. Jim Wallis?!? He believes in Socialism, he's an extreme environmentalist -- he might be an "Evangelical," but I would NOT care to have my name associated with his on any document. I'll read it thru and comment more later.
