Jimmy Carter was tossed out of the office of president because his policies were big-government, high taxes, high inflation, and weak on national defense. What president since Carter has most closely tracked Carter's policies? Barack Obama. And Barack Obama will be replaced in the next election because his policies will fail, just as Carter's did. It has nothing to do with Obama's race any more than it had to do with Carter's.

Jimmy Carter's problem is that, after all of these years, he still thinks that he was right and Ronald Reagan was wrong. He just doesn't get it.

It's like living the answer to a rhetorical question. Imagine yourself musing, "I wonder what would have happened if Carter was re-elected?" Voila!

Not really, but it would be good to have a calm, rational discussion and not knee jerk reactions. I doubt this will happen in my lifetime.

Why are you afraid to discuss the issue?

Translation: Disagreeing with me means you are "irrational."

CTB's air of superiority to all of us mere mortals gets tiring.

And Eugene Robinson hasn't had anything worthwhile to say since Jimmy Carter was in office. No wonder Carter's tripe makes him nostalgic. Reminds him of the last time he said anything that made any sense.
