The First Thanksgiving

    The First Thanksgiving I found an interesting historical article on the first Thanksgiving feast and how it came about. The article is here. It's interesting to me how bad off the pilgrims were because of that first winter. The article refers to the memoirs of the colony governor and state that at one point the pilgrims were rationed to 4 kernels of corn per day! So they were really and literally starving at one point.

    The article talks about what the pilgrims did to overcome this and how it influenced America's future economic and political system. I thought it was an interesting read.
