I got this photo from a very old Golden Retriever book. Pictured is the family of the Lady Aberdeen and is from the 1800's.

I like the breed, they've been ranked as fifth (or sixth) most intelligent, they're kind of mellow and laid back, don't require a lot of supervision, and make excellent family pets. They probably couldn't resist our free-range chickens though. That's why we went with Anatolian Shepherds, for the chickens.
