Boca Juniors in Buenos Aries, Argentina. The only reason your Eurpoean clubs are good is because of all the South American talent they use!

ya, thats why the best players in the premiership are french and british and continental and scandinavian. namely: Lampard, Duff(Irish), Gerrard, Andy Johnson, Henry, Viera, Pires, Carvalho, Reyes, Riise, Mellberg, Terry, Ferdinand, Scholes, Giggs, Shearer, Kluivert, Cech, Robben, Van Nistlerooy, Rooney, Morientes, Cisse, and more. you have the odd africans like Drogba and Okocha, but most are European. not many south americans made it this year.

Morientes was not on the bench. He was ineligble to start due to the fact that he has already played in cup competitions this season for Real Madrid, which means that he is now cup tied for the rest of the season for all of Liverpools remaining cup competition games in all cups. As for south american players, they are now far outshadowed by the european talent from spain, england and france. Thats common knowledge surely  hehe

i think Chelsea did pretty well last night. only saw highlights, but they looked like they were keeping up. i think Chelsea will win the next one 1-0. Manu looked like a joke though. i was working so i didnt see the whole thing, but got off just in time to see the goal

I think the Pool should start Kirkland instead of Dudek. Dudek should retire. I don't think L'pool has any South American players.

The only suth american player that Liverpool have is MAURICIO PELLEGRINO who was born in Argentina. Benitez signed him this year from his former club Valencia. He's got good experiance, but he hasn't figured that much in the team as he's getting on a bit and seems to lack that extra yard of pace. He's only had 3 first team games in fact. I hope we get to see more of him tho. No doubt he will be a good influence on the younger players and will help them with his experiance. As for kirkland, I believe he will be our first choice keeper but I also know hes been struggling with injuries ever since we bought him. Hopefully he will have more of a consistent season next season and less injury plagued.

Chelsea did well apparently, although I missed the highlights. Ac Milan are proving why they are top of serie A, and although Juventus are level on points with them in the italian league, AC look like a miles better team. They will win Serie A this year I predict. Manchester Utd were made to look school boy-ish and Milan gave them a masterclass in quick and concise passing. Hernan crespo is obviously enjoying a new lease of life with Milan and I doubt he will ever play for chelsea again. I don't think he suits the english game tho which is why he struggled for the blues. He did well last night tho for Milan and scored the vital away goal which I predict will put Utd out.

i agree, crespo is not for the premiership. ac milan did look good, i was watching it with a friend and he told me kaka was a waste, roy keane would shut him down. was the opposite

If S.A. players lack in talent when compared to Europe, why is it that Brazil holds the most World Cup titles? (boy it hurts for a Argentine missionary to say that!). Fact is that S.A. players have always added a great deal of talent to the Eurpoean clubs over the many years the game has been played.

The two best players ever to play the game are South American, Maradonna and Pele.

dont forget George Best. your right, Brazil does hold the the most titles and are the best in the world. but i dont think there is any other talent there besides Brazilian and Argentina. there are alot of good European teams now. AC Milan is stacked with S.A. players, Crespo, Dida, Cafu, Kaka.

i didn't say they lacked talent but i was just saying that all the teams up here aren't just good because of South America

Say, What about The United States Women s Oly. 2004 Champs. Over the years, it turned out to be a pretty productive "club"!

Are any other Americans having trouble following this thread?

I have no idea what any of you people are talking about.

I used to play soccer, and I still think it's boring; a little more so than hockey, even.

Baseball is my sport to watch on TV, and Amateur softball (men or coed slow pitch) is what I enjoy watching in person.

Did I neglect to mention that I'm an umpire? ;)

You boys from Naas should take heed of your father's sporting wisdom. There's only one team in England - Chelsea F.C., Premiership Champions elect 2004-2005.

As for Rich - how in the world can a Londoner support Liverpool!! Chelsea have beat them three times this season, and now we are looking forward to beating them two more times as we meet in the Champions League semis

i have to chuckle. Soccer is boring and softball/baseball is exciting? thats good.i like baseball and all, but as far as excitement goes...

and "Ulsterman" i must say your right, Chelsea RULE! i love aston villa like crazy, but with pure skill and class, its not even close. they have a two word defense: John Terry. the best
