@Wingman68
I don't see why there would be any legal consequences for you sharing your opinions of the Jan 6 riots or even those who actually went there to legitimately protest.
It is good to look at different perspectives.
The Leftists would have us believe that every person there were beating cops, breaking windows, trying to get to the House or Senate officials, threatening Pence, etc.
But we know that was not the case.
It is undeniable that a lot of police officers were attacked and injured, several with permanent injuries.
It is undeniable that a lot of the rioters illegally carried weapons on the Capitol grounds.
It is undeniable that a lot of rioters committed crimes akin to the riots we saw in Democrat cities.
It is undeniable that every person who entered the Capitol on Jan 6 broke the law by entering a government building that was closed to the public.
BUT it would be interesting to learn about those who were there to legitimately protest.
My complaint of the aftermath of Jan 6 is twofold
The Leftists want to villainize everybody who were there.
The alt-right wants us to make criminals heros (in a George Floyd fashion).
Both views are dishonest.
My opinion is to convict the criminals.
If a rioter injured a police officer they go to jail.
The rioters who cost the police officer an eye, broke another's spine and ribs, and stabbed another with a metal stake gets tried for attempted murder.
The rioters that sprayed chemical spray on police officers go to jail.
Rioters that carried weapons on Capitol grounds go to jail.
Rioters that broke windows and damaged property go to jail and repay the costs if the damages.
But the people who entered the Capitol and did not attack police officers, did not carry weapons, and did not damage property should only be convicted of Criminal Trespass for entering a government building closed to the public. This can be downgraded to simple trespass if they didn't go in with the mob.
Try the criminals. Be easier in those caught up in movement.
Do what should have been done in the Democrat city riots.
But tell all sides of the story.
