    If God commissions it, there can be no argument! He said that this was to be included on the Ark, so it was. Period.

    Just to note. There are three versions of the 10 words aka commandments.
    Originally what God gave.
    The edition the Catholic Church changed [Luther kept].
    The Protestant revision.

    Yes, but this is not the Seventh Day, which is part of the Ten Commandments. Nine of the Ten Commandments are for Christians to follow, as Fourth Commendment is between God and the Children of Israel only. Christians Worship on the First Day of the week, which is Sunday, because it is the Day that Jesus Rose from the dead, and the Holy Spirit was poured out on the Day of Pentecost, and when the Church was founded.     The Fourth Commandment reveals the absolute sovereignty of God over man with regard to the use of his time—labor, rest, worship and recreation. The Sabbath, reflecting the rest of God upon finishing the work of creation, comes to man as a Divine blessing and gift, not a restriction or burden (Isa. 58:13–14).

    The division of this Commandment is four–fold: first, the strongest admonition both to remember the Sabbath and to keep it holy [set apart].

    Second, the recognition of work,

    Third, rest from work.

    Fourth, the reason for the Sabbath. It reflects the Divine rest after the work of creation—a rest of pleasure and satisfaction. The First Commandment reveals the absolute sovereignty of God over our worship; the Second, the spirituality of our worship; the Third, our inward– attitude in worship. The Fourth Commandment reveals the absolute sovereignty of God over our time—work and rest, worship and vocation, labor and recreation. One must work before he can rest.     It’s the law that declares us guilty before God as sinners. The law points us to Christ. By works of the law, we can’t be justified. We must be born again and covered in the blood of Jesus Christ. The law lets us realize we are lost and sinners and need Jesus.

    Thanks for sharing this, very informative. However, it is clear from Exodus 31:12-18, is very clear as a Sign between God and the Israelites:

    12 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 13 “Speak also to the children of Israel, saying: ‘Surely My Sabbaths you shall keep, for it is a sign between Me and you throughout your generations, that you may know that I am the Lord who sanctifiesa]"you. 14 You shall keep the Sabbath, therefore, for it is holy to you. Everyone who profanes it shall surely be put to death; for whoever does any work on it, that person shall be cut off from among his people. 15 Work shall be done for six days, but the seventh is the Sabbath of rest, holy to the Lord. Whoever does any work on the Sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death. 16 Therefore the children of Israel shall keep the Sabbath, to observe the Sabbath throughout their generations as a perpetual covenant. 17 It is a sign between Me and the children of Israel forever; for in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day He rested and was refreshed.’ ”18 And when He had made an end of speaking with him on Mount Sinai, He gave Moses two tablets of the Testimony, tablets of stone, written with the finger of God.

    Hebrews 4 is talking about the Eternal Rest for all believers who will be with the Lord in heaven.

    No where in the entire NT are Christians told to keep the Sabbath (Seventh) Day.

    We do not keep the creation rest.
    We do not keep the mosaic sabbath.
    We keep the new creation rest.

    Read the position in red highlights slowly.The word used in verse 9 is there remains the keeping of a Sabbath....see the article by Sinclair Ferguson.
    The Keeping of the sabbath looks forward to our eternal.rest in Christ.
    There is no way around it.

    Are you suggesting that the Christian Day of Rest is not Sunday the First Day?

    The main purpose of the Rest mentioned in Hebrews 4 is that which is to come in heaven.

    We rest eternally In Christ, yes.
    However, before we get to heaven vs 9 clearly says....there remaineth the keeping of a Sabbath...that is for us,
    Not the creation rest
    Not the Mosaic sabbath.
    The New Covenant Lords day rest.

    I view this differently.

    Suppose a Christian was never aware of the Ten Commandment. Which of the Commandments would he violate?

    If he is walking in the Spirit, I don't think he would violate any of them. All of the Commandments are violated from an absence of love.

    If I love my neighbor I do not have to be told not to murder him, or steal from him, or covet his possessions. If I love God I don't have to be told not to worship idols.

    I view Christ's statement that if you love Him you will keep His commandments as descriptive, not prescriptive.

    I think we agree on a lot here, but I do not see the Ten Commandments as in effect at all. I view the entire Law as fulfilled in Christ and superceded in the life of God's people by Christ Himself.

    The problem is we do not love perfectly. This is how Christians would violate any commandment. We still struggle with the flesh.

    At the White Throne judgment,what law are the heathen under?
    Sin is transgression. of the law...which Law is written in every man's conscience?
    It seems you are speaking of the obedience of faith that is in the heart of all true believers.
    The sins of the Amorites are not yet full....they were sinning against the law of God.Gen15:16

    I believe they are under the same law. The Law was never given to the Amorites, but to the Jews...and this ultimately to show them their failure (to highlight their sin).

    If they could not refrain from murder, from theft, from coveting, from idolatry, from adultery, etc. then how could they meet the deeper requirement of righteousness? We cannot expect a murder to truly love the one he murders, or the idolater to truly love God, or the adulterous not to lust, etc.

    Joshua's conquest did not occur until the sins of the Amorites had been fulfilled. I don't think this moved the Amorites under the Law, but as Paul mentions in Romans 2, one does not need to be under the Law in order to sin (all have sinned and are on an equal footing, but not all are guilty of transgressing the Law as one cannot transgress what is not governing their conduct).
