A School in Washington bans legos because it teaches the "Evils" of private ownership.

I don't know if this is still the case at Hilltop, since legos and building are listed on their current website in the cirriculum.

But whether it happenned in 06 or today, that's just stupid! The Hilltop Children's Center should be ashamed of themselves. There's an appropriate way to teach kids to share. Hilltop obviously doesn't know how to teach that.

I used to love playing with Legos when I was a kid. I don't see what Legos have to do with private ownership. If anything I thought people could test their imagination by building the coolest things. The only problem I had is I never had enough parts to build the bigger things.

You might be able to use that rolling pin as a way to simulate a tornado, earthquake, hurricane, or flooding. Then tell the kids that they need to rebuild. That'll teach them a life lesson. :laugh:



I still don't see how a child can learn about private ownership with Legos. Maybe someone can explain that to me. I always thought that if someone allowed you to borrow them, then you return the Legos when you are done playing with them. If they are yours, then they are like any other toy. As a child, it was a toy. I never though anything about owning what I built (mostly because I had some odd colored bricks to complete what I made).

Or accuse them of not giving them better logos because they are racist which is only used when their argument fails and can no longer hold any water.
