As I understand it, it is about money. The pharmaceuticals are involved and the angle seems to be that they are wanting total control. Adult stem cells can be harvested from you for you and only you. The genetic match is 100% and promising treatments are exciting to say the least. The twist on embryonic stem cells is that they are not a 100% genetic match. However the pharmaceuticals would control what treatments by gathering and collecting human embryos for stem cell extractions.
