Nothing fancy, but on we move. This is what happens when we grow.

Thanks to everyone for the success. Keep looking up, and God bless us, everyone.

    Cheers,

    Jim

Looks like the schools are closed again today! Four days in a row, probably a record for out here! I bet anything they're gonna make the kids go tomorrow...if they were nice people they'd just say forget it. LOL

    How deep is your snow?

I just remembered one time in Minnesota when I had to leave my children with some friends while I went to Missouri to take care of my parents. (I had bought them a house, and it burned to the ground; they barely escaped with their lives and brought nnothing out with them.) When I got home, I was told that the snow was so deep that when they sent them to school, two blocks away, all they could see were their the tops of their little heads bobbing along above the snow. They called them back and did not send them. I had a VW camper-van then, and it had to be completely dug out of the snow before I could drive it home! Not only were there several feet of snow, but it also got plowed under!

Good Morning, All. I hope you are cozy and warm.

We are going to get another blast in a few hours...just cold I think, but I don't even think the weather people know for sure what is going to happen.

Yeah, I lost the five pounds I gained on the trip. Must have been just temporary weight gain. It usually isn't that easy to lose.

Ed is on his way to work today. I'm going to paint with my friends.

Muffin is watching the neighbor dogs being walked in the cold and he is happy to be inside.

My mother (91) is upset because they rearranged the furniture in her room without telling her they were going to do it.

I haven't heard from the rest of the family so I will assume(?) that all is well.

Oh, Ed's mother had an allergic reaction to the same med that I had an allergic reaction to....different doctors, different states, but they prescribed the same thing for upper-respiratory infections.

Oh, I love this spell check I installed......

spell check! Hmmm I dislike the wretched things. They are American and I have to go back and make a host of corrections.

Not a lot of snow here, but when the winds blew, it packed at front and back of laneway. When the snow packs in, one can walk on top of it. Sure makes it fun blowing out.

The chill is lifting a bit here and we have a "mild" -16..almost seems like paradise.

    Cheers,

    Jim

There's not much snow Abiyah, it's ice. It DID snow, but then it iced, then the temp went from around zero to 36 so it rained, then it dropped back down and the rain on top of the ice froze, then it snowed again. You should see my car. LOL I haven't touched it so it looks like a layered biscuit! If I was smaller I'd climb on top and slide down it, it looks like it would be fun. Hmmm. Might have to talk one of the kids into trying it. :D

A laptop with a really strong battery!
Or...a cell phone with e-mail capabilities.
Or...voice mail on your home phone with e-mail capabilities.
Or...a friend with electricity and a computer.
Or...you leave town and go to a library and use the computer there.
    So...ponder no more!

    Ed climbs on his soapbox.

My firewall is cutting out a lot of
trojan horse viruses. Isn't a trojan horse
a virus that comes into your computer
(if you have no firewall) and takes over
your computer so it can spread the
trojan horse around? I know that the
trojan horses i'm getting are going down
the list of IP addys. My computer's
firewall dings, as soon as it is cone dinging,
my wife's computer's firewall will ding
(she has an IP near but after mine).

Please, i plead with you, do not put
my e-mail address on your favorites list
until AFTER you install a firewall. Thank you.

    It is 17

Rats, the ALT167 no longer produces a
degree symbol when you release the alt
key but jumps to your HOME ADDRESS on the
web. (I checked on my wife's computer
her ALT167 still works. This means it
is my computer and not the BB edit screen)

It is 17 degrees F in central Oklahoma
    this morning.

When I lived in Eureka, CA, as a child, we were often without electricity because of storms, earthquakes, etc. We would always have so much fun, making it like a party. We had musical instruments around the house, so we would tell stories and make our own sound-effects, for one thing. Another thing we would do is color in the dark, then look at the page to see if we could tell what we had drawn.

You know, I often try to think of positive things my mother did, and that was one of them. She had a vivid and wild imagination. Then again, maybe it was my eldest sister who thought it up.

We had lots of wind last night and many without electricity now and over night. This winter has been interesting here.

Watch out! Ed is on a tear this morning!

His computer isn't working correctly. Could it be the operator....No way!

To top it all, he will be home all day.

Should be fun today. Do you think I can keep my mouth shut? I will try. Would be a good day for me to run errands, maybe.

Oh, good, now he is laughing.....

You all will never believe what has happened!

I posted the above post and it went into the women's forum under the thread about dogs.....

I am glad I caught it....they would have thought I think of my dog as human and my husband as a dog.

I was reading this forum and posted......

Maybe the operator of my computer is doing strange things......

Y'all just don't know how skeery all this 'puter-talk is to me...a "complete dummy", if there ever was one, that is da granny! Viruses? Firewalls? ~rolling eyes a lot~ (It's those gremlins what lives in that box, yup.)

Abiyah: someone told me it's the "chemtrails" that's messing with the weather(& folks, too). Ever look up & see 'em? WOW...when we walk, especially in the eve, we can see "spiderweb stuff" hanging all over the fences, etc.

They're coming to take me away, hey hey.

We moved to a new house
in August. Now we have our computers
in the same room. We have a third computer
    NOT attached to the internet,
because some people are not aware of the
Millions of attempts each day to take over
    your computer for cyber-marauder purposes.
Odds are about 30%, if you don't have a
firewall, someone is using your computer.
(you can limit this use with a dial-in
    computer/internet service.

    Fulltime internet connections require
a firewall. Internetting without a firewall
is the cyber equavalent of the physical
driving a car with no brakes. While you can
still stop you car with no brakes
(run into somebody else, you will stop)
it is very rude to do.
It is very rude to post to the BB without
    a firewall.

Thank you for listening to this rant.
Yes, my wife and i do enjoy talking while
reading (80%) and posting (20%) on
    this nice Baptist Board.

    Ed,

We enjoy you and your lovely wife's presence on BB!

Keep on ranting - and we'll either listen or go to a different thread!

Dan - just agitating a little! (I think I'm good at it!)
