    1. The New Testament.
    2. God Himself. Romans 8:16
These first two all Christians have.
    3. The actual historical date from the New Testament of the crucifixion and so of the resurrection which can be corroborated with Jewish calendar. The Passover Mark 14:12-16, 3790 Nisan 14. Mark 14:17-72, Mark 15:1-41, Nisan 15. Mark 15:42-47, Nisan 16. Mark 16:1-14, Nisan 18.
30AD April 5-9. Wedensday-Sunday. Thursday April 6 was the crucifixion.

Not to mention that the invisible attributes of God are displayed by what He has made... Romans 1:19-20

Consider those who claim that order occurred by happenstance out of chaos. Brings a smile to my face too...

Think 100 monkeys typing on 100 typewriters, while we wait for one to produce a sonnet...

I disagree that a percise date is evidence of the resurrection.

The question goes to "what Jewish calendar?"

    The Biblical calendar of Exodus?
The calendar used in the 1st Century?
    The Sanhedrin authority?
    The present Jewish calendar?

Then how are we measuring "days and nights"?

The Jewish rule where a partial counts a whole (like Ester's 3 day and 3 night fast which was 2 days)?

Then what are we calling the start of the day?

Then what are we calling the evening (and between the evenings)?

And ultimately, what was the writers using - the Law or the 1st Century Jewish practice?

I think we can at least know that Jesus' tomb was found empty on Sunday.

I do not need for Jesus to have been in the tomb for 3 days and 3 nights by a Western counting to believe God raised Him from the dead.

I find that some have put to much emphasis on when He was crucified and not enough on the fact He has risen.

You either believe what Christ said would be the proof and accept it even though you can not know without a doubt what day He was crucified on. Or what?

    The Passover Mark 14:12-16, 3790 Nisan 14. Mark 14:17-72, Mark 15:1-41, Nisan 15. Mark 15:42-47, Nisan 16. Mark 16:1-14, Nisan 18.

    I am responding to the above underlined;

I do not understand how this can be if the scriptures was guide to our Lord Jesus.

See Bible quotes below and match them to your preaching.

Ex 12:1 And the Lord spake unto Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt saying,
2 This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you.

3 Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, In the tenth day (10th day) of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to the house of their fathers, a lamb for an house:

Too much in the chapter to quote it all but suffice it to say there are instructions beginning on the tenth concerning the Passover Lamb.. Here is the next mentioned day.

6 And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening.

    1
    April 2
    April 3
    April 4
    April 5
    April 6
    April 7
    April 8
    Sun April 9
    Mon April 10 = day 1
    Tue April 11 = day 2
    Wed April 12 = day 3
    Thu April 13 = day 4
    Fri April 14 = day 5 - Passover
Sat April 15 = day 6 - Begin Feast of Unleavened Bread lasting 7 days ending 21th day at 6 pm
    Sun April 16 = day 7 - Resurrection
    Mon April 17 = day 8
    Tue April 18 = day 9
    Wed April 19 = day 10
    Thu April 20 = day 11
Fri April 21 = day 12 - End of Feast of Unleavened Bread on 7th day from Passover on 14th

Going backwards 7 days from 21th of the month to date when the Feast of unleavened Bread begins on the 15th that was to last until the 21th and for 7 days.

    April 21 - 1 Sunday
    April 20 = 2 Monday
    April 19 = 3 Tuesday
    April 18 = 4 Wednesday
    April 17 = 5 -Thursday
    April 16 = 6 Friday
    April 15 = 7 - Saturday

    1/10/1 thru 1/21/1 = 12 days.
Ex 12:14 And this day shall be unto you for a memorial; and ye shall keep it a feast to the LORD throughout your generations; ye shall keep it a feast by an ordinance for ever.

Four days given in the text = the 10th day- the 14th day- the 15th day - the 21th day.

14 And this day shall be unto you for a memorial; and ye shall keep it a feast to the LORD throughout your generations; ye shall keep it a feast by an ordinance for ever.
15 Seven days shall ye eat unleavened bread; even the first day ye shall put away leaven out of your houses: for whosoever eateth leavened bread from the first day until the seventh day, that soul shall be cut off from Israel.
16 And in the first day there shall be an holy convocation, and in the seventh day there shall be an holy convocation to you; no manner of work shall be done in them, save [that] which every man must eat, that only may be done of you.
17 And ye shall observe the feast of unleavened bread; for in this selfsame day have I brought your armies out of the land of Egypt: therefore shall ye observe this day in your generations by an ordinance for ever.
18 In the first [month], on the fourteenth day of the month at even, ye shall eat unleavened bread, until the one and twentieth day of the month at even.
19 Seven days shall there be no leaven found in your houses: for whosoever eateth that which is leavened, even that soul shall be cut off from the congregation of Israel, whether he be a stranger, or born in the land.
20 Ye shall eat nothing leavened; in all your habitations shall ye eat unleavened bread.

Le 23:4 These are the feasts of the LORD, even holy convocations, which ye shall proclaim in their seasons.
5 In the fourteenth day of the first month at even is the LORD’S passover.
6 And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread unto the LORD: seven days ye must eat unleavened bread.

I think these verses properly allowed to mean what they say shows that Jesus Christ was crucified on the 14th day of the month late in the day at evening and the 7 day observance of the feast of unleavened bread began on the 15th when his body was placed in the tomb, the same day Jesus was all day in the tomb until the end of the 7th day of the feast observance which was the 21th.

Is it not written in 1 Corinthians 14:33, For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

    @JD731,
    Your post #5 is confusing.
Your April list is meaningless. What calendar, what year?

Do you from Exodus 12:18 understand why in Deuteronomy 16:8 mentions only 6 days of unleavened bread?

From: The Resurrection of Jesus was on a Sabbath..., for reference.

Important: This POSTING does NOT address the issue of whether or not Christians should keep the Sabbath. Please do not REPLY about that.

I have a few tons of info to support worship on Sunday vs Saturday,
despite all of what this reference material talks about.

This is only about the O.P. topic "resurrection day".

"The basic Greek text of the Bible is clear: Jesus rose on His day (Sabbath)... Jesus was resurrected on the only day of rest (Sabbath) ever blessed and sanctified by God and not on an unblessed ordinary working day (Sunday).

"This can be proved easily and quickly:

    TABLE OF CONTENTS:

    The Basics:

    Introduction

Definition: Day, Evening, „between the evenings“,
Sabbath, High Sabbath, Pre-Sabbath, Week, First Fruits

The Interlinear Bible - The literal translation
of the Greek New Testament (NT) - shows the Sabbath resurrection
    .

The opinions of the churches about the day of the resurrection of Jesus.

    The seven scientific proofs
that Jesus rose from the dead on a Sabbath morning:

    1. The basic Greek text never mentions the Sunday or the week.

    2. The resurrection day is named 7 times with the name "Sabbath".

    3. The preparation day was not a Friday but a Wednesday.

    4. There was at least one day (Intermediate day)
between the two Sabbaths (15th and 17th Nisan)
    .

    5. The sign of the Messiah: Jesus was „3 days and 3 nights“
in the heart of the earth

    .

    Introduction: The cause of mistranslations.

The greatest translation mistake in the history of mankind:
„μια των σαββατων“ (mia ton sabbaton)
    .

6.1 The word "Sabbath" was replaced by the words "week" and "Sunday".

6.2 The plural "σαββατων" (Sabbaths) has been reinterpreted as "week" or "Sunday" (singular).

6.3 „On the one“ was replaced by "on the first“.

    6.4 „On a Sabbath“ has been replaced by „AFTER a Sabbath“.

6.5 The "Day of the Sabbaths" was replaced by the "Day of the Sun" (Sunday), the new Lord's Day.

6.6 "Evening" and "into" were replaced by "AFTER".

6.7 Sunday was made the „Lord's Day“.

    7. Many old Bibles proclaim the resurrection of Jesus on a Sabbath or Saturday morning...

Study and translation of the Bible verses that mention the Sabbath:

I am sorry if you are confused but the APB for all generations is in Ex 12. They have never been confused about the timing for them to show up in Jerusalem for the spring festival of Passover & Unleavened Bread. They have the dates in this chapter. They are the 10th of the month, the 14th of the month, the 15th of the month and the 21th of the month. Certain things are to happen on those dates and they are clearly laid out in the text. They have not changed. This feast was both a memorial through the years for Israel and also a prophecy. It seems to me if one has a first month, whatever one calls it, you have a 10th, a 14th, a 15th, and a 21th day in it. It doesn't seem to me like rocket science.

When Israel was scattered to other nations through the years many of them still came to Jerusalem for the festivals as evidenced by members of 17 nations mentioned in Acts 2 that were there for Pentecost. I doubt the High Priests had to send out memos to them to instruct them when to show up.

These days are for the people of Israel and do not concern the gentiles nearly as much. All those things in the OT were written for them

    Here is how they relate to us today;

Ro 15:4 For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.

5 Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus:
6 That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
7 Wherefore receive ye one another, as Christ also received us to the glory of God.

8 Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers:

    Two different applications

9 And that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy; as it is written, For this cause I will confess to thee among the Gentiles, and sing unto thy name.
10 And again he saith, Rejoice, ye Gentiles, with his people.
11 And again, Praise the Lord, all ye Gentiles; and laud him, all ye people.

The words are so important in the scriptures. They are more sure than calendars.
12 And again, Esaias saith, There shall be a root of Jesse, and he that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; in him shall the Gentiles trust.
13 Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

Try as you might you will not be able to come up with day that will not be questioned by some other group and they will have scripture to support their view just as you have scripture to support yours.

One either trust what Christ said or they do not. We know that He was raised on the third day. That is all I have too know.

Answer me this, is your faith in Christ dependent on knowing without a doubt what day He was crucified on or that He rose on the third day as He said He would?

Was Jesus Resurrected on Easter Sunday?
    by Staff
    Forerunner, "Ready Answer," April 2000.

    Good run down. Good info!

    Sample, why not?

    "Professing Christians the world over
    celebrate
Easter as a day of worship,
though the Bible contains no command of
    God on the matter.

"If one were to ask them, "Why is Easter celebrated on Sunday?"
    they would likely say that
Jesus instituted a new day of worship
when He rose from the grave on the first Easter Sunday morning.

"This, they believe, allows them to violate God's command
    to keep the seventh-day
    Sabbath.
    (Exodus 20:8; Deuteronomy 5:12).

"To buttress their view, traditional Christianity teaches:

» The Passover is a Sabbath, and all Sabbaths occur on the seventh day.

» The preparation day can only fall
on the sixth day of the week (Friday).

» When the women arrived at the tomb

on the first day of the week (Sunday), Jesus had just risen at dawn.

» Jesus, then, could not have spent 72 hours in the grave.

"None of these statements is true!"

"A careful study of God's Word exposes the deception
    of these commonly held beliefs
and torpedoes the validity of an Easter Sunday resurrection.

    "Proof in the Holy Days."

"To see the truth on this matter,
we must start with God's instruction on the Passover in Exodus 12:

"Now the LORD spoke to Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying, . . .
"Speak to all the congregation of Israel, saying:

‘On the tenth day of this month [Abib, later called Nisan]
every man shall take for himself a lamb
according to the house of his fathers,
    a lamb for a household. . . .

Now you shall keep it until the fourteenth day of the same month.

Then the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel
shall kill it at twilight. .

    It is the LORD's Passover. . . .

    So this day shall be to you a memorial;
and you shall keep it as a feast to the LORD
    throughout your generations.

You shall keep it as a feast by an everlasting ordinance."
    (Exodus 12: verses 1, 3, 6, 11, 14)

"Notice that God never declares the Passover a Sabbath,
though He does call it a feast.

"Then God establishes the Feast of Unleavened Bread
    with its two associated Sabbaths:

"Seven days you shall eat unleavened bread. . . .

On the first day there shall be a holy convocation,

and on the seventh day there shall be a holy convocation for you:

No manner of work shall be done on them,
but that which everyone must eat
—that only may be prepared by you.

So shall you observe the Feast of Unleavened Bread. . . .

In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at evening
[the end of the fourteenth day], you shall eat unleavened bread,
until the twenty-first day of the month at evening." (verses 15-18)

"God has ordained a particular numbered day
    for these holy convocations,
the fifteenth and twenty-first days of Abib/Nisan.

"It is impossible for both of these holy convocations
to fall on the seventh-day Sabbath.

"Even if the fifteenth fell on a Saturday,

the twenty-first would occur on the following Friday.

"By itself, this disproves the notion
that all Sabbaths must fall on the seventh day.

"In addition, Pentecost never falls on a Sabbath
    but always on a Sunday.

"Even a casual glance at a Hebrew calendar shows
that the holy days fall throughout the week, seemingly haphazardly."

The discovery of the actual date is irrefutable evidence.

Christ was raised from the grave. The disciples accepted Him as Lord and King. God. What more proof do you need?

You are trying to find irrefutable evidence for something that can not be proven beyond the shadow of a doubt. That is why you have the different dates.

You either believe that Christ fulfilled the prophecy as He said He would or you do not actually believe that He is God.

You are chasing a shadow that disappears as soon as you shine a light on it. What you call proof others call fiction.

You have absolutely no proof against the Biblical evidence.

The three fold evidence of the resurrection of Christ

I offer only one date for the Biblical crucifixion.

Strange that you would say I have no proof. I am not the one trying to prove anything. As for your biblical proof, others have used the same biblical proof you use and have come to a different conclusion. So which view is correct? As I said, you are chasing a shadow.

You are missing my point. What day or date Christ was crucified on is not as important as you seem to think. He was crucified, He was buried, He was raised the third day. What more do you need?

Christ said He would be in the grave 3 days & 3 nights, the disciples knew this and did not raise any questions. So since He is God and God can not lie I will take His word for it.

My question for you is, why is it necessary that you think you have the correct day? If you do not have absolute proof of the day will that impact your faith? Why do you not trust what Christ said?

Talking nonsense. Same proof, different conclusion?

    Give a case.

If there cannot be an actual crucifixion date, there would be no crucifixion. No actual crucifixion, how can there be any resurrection?

37 you are the one fixated on having to know the date not me. Logically there must be other dates and days or you would not be trying so hard to prove yours now would you. And logically they would all base their conclusions on the same information you are using.

I do not need to know the day Christ was crucified, the bible tells me He was He said He would be 3 days & 3 nights in the grave so I believe it. Why you need an actual crucifixion date to prove the resurrection means you do not trust what Christ said.

Who has said there was no crucifixion?

How many threads are you going to start in your attempt to prove something that can not be proven. The best you can do is give your opinion. Your chasing shadows.
