The Vice President speaks about loss, grief, and despair to a Memorial Day weekend gathering of families of fallen troops; and specifically as to the awful experience of finding out his wife and daughter had been killed in an accident.

Regardless of one's politics or views of the Vice President, this would be a life-changing experience, and I empathize with anyone who has gone through such a thing.
