I also find it strange that it is mostly being reported this way by sources that usually deal in sensationalism and alarmism.

    Wondering why?

Could it be it's mostly their take on it and not necessarily all they are making it out to be?

CBS News reports it this way:

    (Emphasis mine)

Been looking for mainstream reports (which BTW, I thought we were not supposed to trust) but could not find any yet. Could you post the link please?

This whole issue is the largest of my many problems with this president. Many others are just politics, but this and his recent kill order of a US citizen mark substantive changes to American liberties, and that is scary.

Even worse, about 30 Republican senators joined him on this bill.

Section 1021 of the bill says this:

Prison planet and huffpo, et al, didn't report that.

You are having better google success than I am - could you append your links so I can have a look in context please?

I don't know why HuffPost et all would print anything anti-Obama unless there is some merit.

    A little history:

In 1942, 2 American citizens arrested in the United States, were denied their right of habeas corpus, tried as spies by military tribunal, found guilty, and executed.

In a declared war even on American soil and involving American citizens, martial law and civil law intersect where one can take precedence over the other.
I'm not sure who/what makes that determination.

Even at that, one case of injustice does not rise to a moral equivalent of what is presently happening to all American citizens by this administration's trashing of the Constitution.

e.g. - shut up and "pass the bill so we can see what it says".

For starters, our former Speaker said it all:

e.g. - shut up and "pass the bill so we can see what it says".

    The Eugenics Bill AKA: ObamaCare.

Passed with no informed body of representation of we the people.
Every American citizen will feel the impact of that illegal bill by 2014.

The murder of the unborn denying them their unailienable right of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness which rights were granted by their Creator.

    Continuance of the Patriot Act.
American citizens can be spied upon without a warrant, detained and or killed with no due process (in an undeclared war)

    No constitutional money, fiat only.
allowing all citizens to be robbed daily of the value of the Federal Reserve notes in their purses and wallets.

    To name a few.

    Picky! Picky!

You left out the illegal intervention in Libya, but that's a pretty good list.

I'm in agreement with most portions pf the Patriot Act. And I believe we should kill those that are working with terrorists to kill us, citizen or not.

Most portions? Agreed - but suppose someone said the sugar I put in your coffee is 1% potassium cyanide. It's that little bit of sugar coated poison that can be deadly.

Killing those citizens who are working with terrorists. Yes - but my request is to define and legally sanction death for those deeds defined as acts of war and a renunciation of citizenship which are a present and deadly national danger to keep both the bleeding hearts and constitutionalists (like myself) from all the handwringing.

In government today, "most portions" is about the best you can do.

If you expect perfection, you're going to have a very long day. Every day.
