An American solider serving overseas was helpless as he chatted with his pregnant wife over a video chat on Wednesday. During the chat, a young soldier in a dispute with the couple over money and who broke into the home earlier, stabbed Rachel Poole, 31, multiple times with a knife as her husband Justin Poole was on screen.

Rachel was nine months pregnant at the time. A local news report with more details says the baby is in good condition but Rachel was listed as critical, with several stab wounds and fractures to her face and body.

Texas is one of a couple dozen states with an unborn victims law and the assailant could be held responsible for attacking the baby as well.

A tragedy and a travesty. That's really all I can say at the moment. I'm too upset by it to put what I am thinking into cognizant sentences.

That is about as depraved as it gets. This is not exactly like that, because no one did anything wrong, but once on a ship, the RM taking messages recorded a Red Cross message of his own wife's death while deployed.

Anyway, stuff like this is so horrible, I cannot even think of a justified punishment that our Constitution allows.

Yet people pay to go watch things like this at the movies. Man is depraved in that sense as well.
